was lifting with a guy on my team last week. we were warming up and he was asking what i start with. i usually only like to work with 45lb plates and only count the plates as weight. he is saying i should add 45lbs to all the numbers cause the bar weighs that much too, sure as hell doesnt feel like its that much.
im not looking to be a powerlifter, dont really care about numbers, and rarely even think of how much weight im using, just as long as it feels heavy and i can lift it properly.

you probably are using a 45lbs bar, but there are 55lbs bars. you'd be able to tell the differance. one's thicker and a bit longer. cheers

count the bar so you wont look like a :newbie:

regardless of your sport, coaches, trainers, powerlifters, bodybuilders, fitness enthusiasts (in the know) count the bar as weight.

YOURE LIFTING THAT WEIGHT ALSO ARENT YOU? WHY WOULDNT IT BE COUNTED!
