do you count the barbell as weight?

I add the weight of the bar except for when i use the Smith machine, cause i am never sure home much the bar weighs. Plus, i think it doesn't matter so long as you are consistent. Its about progress, not the weight itself.

I usuallly assume that the eZbar is 15 and the barbell is 45. So long as i use the same bar every time, it don't matter if those are accurate.

HM. Maybe the big bulky collars that are sometimes used. They can weigh a few pounds. Clips? As in spring collars? Doubt it...

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. By "clips" I took it to mean the light weight clips you squeeze and slide down the barbell. They weigh about 8oz or so? LOL

And most easy curl bars weigh about 15 lbs. The ones at my gym weigh 16 lbs to be exact (I put a couple of them on a scale). I've also noticed that some dumbells don't include the weight of the bar. At my old gym we had two different dumbell sets, one that included the weight of the bar and the other didn't. So one set of 50 pounders was actually heavier then the other. Clips can weigh alot, the ones I used to use were 2.5 lbs each.

I'm not sure how much a standard barbell weighs though.
