In eating a diet where only 20% consist of fat, should I be counting in EFAs into that 20%? A few nutrionists I know have all told me that they do need to be counted in and do count towards total caloric intake but I've seen individuals on support group say that it should not be counted towards the total daily intake.
From udos-oil.com:
"Can you get too much essential fat?
When you get more than 12-15% of total calories as n-3s, there is a fat "burn-off" based on increased metabolic rate. Other than exceeding liver capacity and getting nauseous, or not sleeping because of too much energy because you took it too close to bedtime, it doesn't appear so."
