There would be other health benefits from celery.
But when it comes to weight, there would be very little difference.
Atkin's diet is high fat diet (bad for your health, although you may lose weight).
isnt that cause you go ento ketosis and end up burning fats for energy tho? i think its diff

Please do not disagree in such strong words.
I stand behind what I said.

What specific knowledge do you have to disagree with me?

On the day that you eat more calories than you burn, your body saves those excess calories in a savings account called 'fat', so that it can use it on a rainy day when you will not get enough calories.
On a day when you don't eat enough calories (eg diet), your body dips into that saving account (fat) to get calories to make up the difference.
When you exercise, you burn calories.
That is 90% of weight loss and weight gain.

I know all the bullshit around about weight loss.
Just like you see pills advertised on TV to enlarge penis.

Ok...heres one:

The body cannot burn bodyfat with elevated insulin levels.

^^Thats a fact..

so...2000 cals of hogh GI carbs will greatly inpact blood sugar response, making it impossible to burn bodyfat during those spikes in insulin.

Protein, for example does not have this drastic of an effect.

SO...cals are not cals from a body performance, weight loss aspect.

If all cals are equal...explain why Americans ate a record low %age of fat in the diet last year and a high %age of carbs...yest obesity is at an all time high?

Another reason is the themic effect of food as it applies to individual macro groups.

why are lower carb/moderate fat/ moderatre protein diest so much more effective than high carb diets for losing weight when on isocaloric intakes?

You're right of course, all calories are not equal.

But linking it to obesity is an post hoc ergo procter hoc argument. One doesnt necessarily follow the other

How isnt it...there are massive studies that specifically show that greater carb intakes lead to over ranging insulion release which specifically blunts any fat loss as long as blood sugar is elevated. That means that even on a less than maintenance cals...bodyfat cannot be burned.....

that is a pretty much accepted fact.
