OK fellas i know most of you have been here before,

What are some methods and tips you experienced guys can give me to get threw this tough time?

Im feeling frustrated/depressed i can barely train and i feel all the hard work i have done in the past is all being undone from not being able to train

Please guys help me out with some guidelines or something to keep me on track mentally and physically

I have inflammed tendons and ligaments around a few of my thoracic vertebrae as they have been overloaded due to limited movement of cervical vertebrae, they have been doing all the twisting/bending and now have had enough!!!

I know I can just take the advice of my physio, and the boys and trainers at my gym and google this shit but i thought some good bros from EF could help me out here as well

i think you should do whatever doesn't hurt..... when people get injured, they tend to just make excuses and not workout. I think that you have the right state of mind- just trial and error will be good in your situation IMO.

Ive had low back injuries, they suck. cant squat, cant deadlift. what i did was body-weight lunges, side lunges, onle leg squats with the other leg extend behind on a bench for stability, core work, balance work, sprinting and agility work, plyometrics and jumping, and single joint machines like leg extensions and leg curls.

it will get you through the tough times. when you come back your body will be better prepared for the heavy stress that you put on it, when lifting heavy weights. just remember that when your healed and get back to lifting heavy do so gradually.

Thanks for the good responses bros keep em comin,

ATM im just working around the injury, its frustrating as hell but its getting done. I think now the most important thing for me is to keep my diet on track

check out a chiropractor. they did a great job on my low back injury. typically if you experience pain like your describing something in your lumbo pelvic hip-complex is out of whack.

its more mid back mate, facet joints where my thoracic and lumbar vetrebrae join. the tendons and ligaments are inflammed due to being overloaded by lack of movement in my cervical vetebrae its getting better day by day though. I see a physio atm I'll ask him if seeing a chiro could help also. I should be back at work in a week or so, in the meantime im still getting to the gym and just working around it I had a solid chest/arms session yesterday and i left the gym feeling like a milllion bucks cause I could train hard again lol. When i first started this thread it was the day after the initial injury and i could barely get out of bed!! Its a week later and there is a still a dull pain i just have to be very careful not to twist or bend carelessly, and I am working around it at the gym. Thanks for the help mate!

Good idea mate, i actually have a family friend who is a chiropractor come to think of it so I'll go and see him!

i did some looking into bbing periodization, couldnt find anything that didnt resemble the plan you already had. mostly, they mentioned exercises being manipulated weekly or biweekly as opposed to cycling reps, though rep cycling was obviously one of the patterns.
