Cure for De Quervain's Tenosynovitis (Tendinitis)?

Hey all, about a month and a half ago, i suffered from De Quervain's Tenosynovitis from heavy dumbbell benching, and resulting in limited movement and pain in my thumb, and pain in my wrists from inflamed tendons.

I got a brace put on, took anti inflammatory meds, iced and massaged, and just got the corticosteroid injection in the area a few days ago, but doesnt seem to help as much as i thought it would. I've been out of the gym for 7 weeks now to rest and I'm pretty frustrated that I have not been able to train for a while and losing my gains.

I've been doing some research on what I can take to help repair my tendons, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has had my problem and what they took to recover from this injury.

I saw Supercissus RX, and Skeletal Balm from NTBM but wanted to hear from everyone first.

I suffered from that, and I got lucky with the steroid injection into the tendon sheath. It came back 9 months later, and I had the injections again, and it worked again. But if it happens a third time, I'll have to get more aggressive and fix it correctly. What's happening is that the tendons are binding up in the sheath, and that's either because they're swollen, or they're pinched. The real fix is a minor surgery, where they slit the sheath open, and that allows the tendons to move freely permanently. It sounds bad, but I did a lot of research and talked to my orthopedic doctor, and he said it's simple enough to do under local anesthetic if you're OK with being awake.

Dang that really sucks. I'd hate to go through surgery, and then be out of the gym even longer! I am going to try the steroid injection one more time, then will do surgery. That looks to be the only true way of repairing my problem.

Thanks Charles

hey, ive just been diagnosed with de quervains to and now waiting on the injection, ive been offf work already 5weeks and was just wondering how long it took you torecover? thanks

Im replying really late but mine never healed on its own. I have had it 3 different times now, within one year. Comes back a month or two after the injection, which I had to get the injection twice. They will not do the injection more than twice, and unfortunately for me I am currently suffering from this stupid thing again and its been about 2-3months. I am still working out though, learned my way around it although it can hurt like a b*.

My only option left is surgery, which will take a few weeks.
