Breakfast: 1 whey protein drink

1 cup of low fat milk

Lunch:

1/3 cup of boiled rice
8 oz of baked-chicken
1 plate of green-vegetables made with (brocoli, green cabbage)

Some comments:
- add 2 more meals;
- eat instead of drink breakfast
- the dinner is problematic (again scrap the whey, use real food, scrap the fruit salad, or at least eat the food earlier in the day).
- some will advise against 2 glasses of milk on a cutter

I know 3 meals a day is too little but i'm affraid i can't add more meals because i have a very slow metabolism. Do you think my starches are ok? or would i need to increase starches or protein?

thanx

PS: When i reach my ideal weight i will increase starchy-carbohydrates

more meals will help speed your metabolism up. from the looks of it you are eating way to little calories. just because your body can't resist 4500 calories like someone with great genes doesn't mean you have to starve yourself to get to your goals. too little calories will result in loss of muscle opposed to fat and can have adverse results

Hello Poysyn: how are you? You are right, i guess i have lost some strength, because on my bench-press which i have been doing 8 repetitions with 135 lbs. last week i couldn't do 8 reps. i lost 1 rep. in bench-press and could only do 7 reps. It seems that i have lost strenght lately and debiliated myself.

Thanx for the advice, and you are right, eating too little, being too hungry during the day might help us lose faster, but at the expense of loss of srength and energies

The starchy carbs are a problem. I know in the old days these were called "complex" and therefore good. They convert to sugar very fast and cause a blood sugar spike and make you fat.

Get the bulk of your carbs from vegetables (not grains or potatoes.) Focus on green leafy veg and colourful veg. (salads are great) Add a limited amount of fruit.

Add some good fat sources, nuts, flax seed, fish oil, olive oil, etc.

Eat 6 times a day. Breakfast, lunch, supper and 3 planned snacks. Try to get protein, good carbs and good fats at each of the 6 meals. ( an example of a snack might be a slice of turkey, 1/2 an apple, 6 almonds)

It's not rocket science but it will seem like you're eating a lot at first. You will probably eat more than you are now. Keep your portions small and get variety. Add rice and cereal only after you reach you goal weight.

What's your workout like?
