CKD Experts-questions for ya. THANKS!

I have figured my BMR and the associated calories, %'s etc that I need in order to theoretically put the CKD to practical use.

I have some questions after reading that many people talk about going in and out of ketosis. I suck at this diet IMO, but I have seemed to stay in ketosis for 2 days...atleast as far as I know.

These questions I assume are simply due to my ignorance of ketosis and the asscociated physiology/biochemistry.

I admit I had a misunderstanding of the CKD as a whole, but after reading more it's simply a matter of math. Get the math and get the diet-justput it into practice. What is confusing me is so many people having problems with ketosis.
So...

1. In relation to reading a KetoStix, What is "out of ketosis?"
2. Why does it take some people so long to get into ketosis?
I went from TRACE to NEGATIVE within hours. People state days.
3. Is trace still in ketosis? (Question 1 should will answer this)
4. Does each meal have to meet the appropriate % of fat and protein?
I would assume so, spreading it out as even as possible only makes sense,
surely I can't get all my protein in my first 3 meals and eat fat the rest
of the day and still be effectively doing the diet correctly.

Thanks for all your knowledge and help.

ketostix are not always accurate. What you need to do is simply make sure you stay under30g carbs a day for 5 straight days, then carb up on weekends-

up

bump

thanks, but no, it's apparently not that simple...too much protein can thwart ketosis.

so, my questions go unanswered thus far.

1)out of ketosis is when your reading on the Ketosix matches the negative color on the bottle...it's not always true
2)some ppl. don't follow directions and some ppl. have too many carbs, and some just have the body that takes longer to get into ketosis
3)yes, trace is still in ketosis, any level of ketosis is ketosis
4)Yes advocate that each meal should at least come close to needed ratios
5)no doing protein and fat in differentiation is totally counterproductive for ckd

I think for the majority it is that easy Rugger. Ive never paid much attention to fat and protein consumption...just carbs...ive never had a problem with getting into ketosis.....ive also read studies saying...your body can convert protein into a carbohydrate and use it for fuel. I think another important factor is how much Glycogen you have stored in your body before starting the diet...as to how fast you go into ketosis.

I don't know if it's just me but I can eat up to 100-150gms of carbs in one day and still stay in ketosis. Does anyone else experience this? I have a feeling it might be my cardio, since I do 30-40 min/day. Hard cardio can easily lower blood sugar and deplete glycogen.

Bro, I do 40 min of running and 20 min walkin a day and it still takes me at least 36 hours to get into ketosis. I think your ketostix are playin trix on you. Maybe you bought Ketotrix instead of Ketostix???

Are these effects normal??

Started a CKD diet this week.

Monday night I was 214 this morning Im 205 and body fat up 1.5%. I am following the diet to the letter. I have aching teeth and bleeding gums, my legs feel like lead. Head aches and look very flat. Havent lost any strength though!

In trace ketosis.

Are these things normal? Will I fill back up with the carbs on Sunday?

PS The girlfriend has only lost 3 lb but has started being sick

Thanks for any advice.
