China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Idaho

Re: China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Id

Thanks to the trillions of dollars that the Chinese have made flooding our shores with cheap products, China is now in a position of tremendous economic power. So what is China going to do with all of that money? One thing that they have decided to do is to buy up pieces of the United States and set up "special economic zones" inside our country from which they can continue to extend their economic domination. One of these "special economic zones" would be just south of Boise, Idaho and the Idaho government is eager to give it to them. China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach for short) plans to construct a "technology zone" south of Boise Airport which would ultimately be up to 50 square miles in size. The Chinese Communist Party is the majority owner of Sinomach, so the 10,000 to 30,000 acre "self-sustaining city" that is being planned would essentially belong to the Chinese government. The planned "self-sustaining city" in Idaho would include manufacturing facilities, warehouses, retail centers and large numbers of homes for Chinese workers. Basically it would be a slice of communist China dropped right into the middle of the United States.

According to the Idaho Statesman, the idea would be to build a self-contained city with all services included. It would be modeled after the "special economic zones" that currently exist in China.

Just uhhhh... ummm... errrrr.... see the rest China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Idaho

That would be cool if someone would actually do it.

We should pay off our national debt by selling-off blocks of the country to people who are only bound by the original constitution plus its amendments. Basically they agree to the original deal with none of the other nonsense.

Wow this is.... uhm.... not even sure how to feel.... I didnt see anywhere in the articles who will be employed in this area, will it bring jobs for Americans? the article reads:

“I believe that Idaho or other American companies should first seek investments from America and employ American engineers first,” said Ling-Ling, a naturalized citizen from Orinda, Calif., who was born in Vietnam of Chinese parents.

just because they should doesnt mean they will.... :worried:

.I bet Reagan is rolling in his grave.

I think so... I can see his grave from our kitchen window, and every time something like this comes up, I think I see a dust plume rising from over there :verygood:

Boise, ID is a weird place for China to do that, as I think that's some of the reddest-blood American land of anywhere. In other words, I don't think there will be a lot of warm welcoming arms there... More likely the arms the newly immigrating Chinese workers will meet, will be of the Colt or Smith & Wesson variety.

Re: China Wants To Construct A 50 Square Mile Self-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Id

So let's see:

US landowners get the payment for land - check

Land value appreciates substantially with development, greatly
increasing property taxes - check

Employment created from industrial zone increasing GDP and payroll taxes - check

Chinese companies taxed on income from production in USA vs no tax for imports from China - check

All subject to US laws and regulations - check

Not sure why anyone would be opposed to this. American businesses doing the same thing in China all the time.

I'm not necessarily opposed to it, but I also somehow think that there will be exceptions made to some of the tax laws, and possibly another reason they'd like ID is that I have the feeling that the legal issues aren't so bad there.... But they WILL BE, once the population increases, and a few crooks (oops, I mean lawyers) relocate there from CA.

THAT'S what I don't want to see happen to the Heartland. The coasts are already lost.

Uh. A 50 square mile factory = mega pollution. Also water rights are a huuuuuge issue in Idaho, and a 50 square mile factory city is going to be a huuuuge drain on the aquifers, springs, wells...

You do know the easiest way to conquer a super power right ? It isn't by building a massive army and marching to their door step. It's by crippling their infrastructure. So let's see.

Steal American tech at an alarming rate - check check and check

Control American debt - check

Control American economy - almost
