CHest Training!!!

Does anyone train Chest the day after they've trained shoullders/trps?? HUGE Karma for some routines where this has worked............thnx bras......

I would not train Chest AFTER shoulder's/tri's. I tried a routine a little while back doing Chest/Shoulders on Monday, and working Tri's on Tuesday. I got "ok" results with it, but went back to doing Chest/Tri's on the same day. I didn't see any difference except exhausted Triceps.

Nope nor will I ever. My training split goes like this.

Monday: Back/Biceps
Tuesday: Chest
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Legs
Friday: Shoulders/Triceps
Saturday and Sunday: Rest

repeat....works perfect for me.

That’s really not going to work if you want to use any compound moves, as the shoulders and tri's are massively involved in any pressing movement.

A split that has them in that order is not well worked out unless you have a very good reason for it. You would be better to swap them round, but even that would be tough. The only way you could manage it might be to use chest isolation moves solely or to pre-exhaust your chest, but that isn’t going to productive in the long-run.

Sean gave a good split, and there are lots of other options. FYI, my current one for 5x5 is:

Mon - Legs
Tues - Chest, abs (plus longer cardio session)
Wed - off
Thurs - Shoulders, Back
Fri - Bi's, Tri's
