Captain of Crush Grippers?

IronLion said:
When you do speed deadlifts, drop down and grap the bar as hard as you can and as FAST as you can, then pull FAST.

I did something similar with super heavy shrugs one day. Only had enough grip strength to get the bar up and down real quick for one rep. Forearms were popping after. It was good.

I agree with endpoint. The trainer can be helpful in your training. Strap holds, warm-ups...file it down for an overcrush, negatives, etc.

Its also a good idea to buy the #3 since you can use it for negatives and such.

Just being able to hold onto heavy weights while deadlifting, cleaning, snatching, rows etc

The suggestions by ironlion are good. But what really has helped my grip for deads, cleans, etc has been working with the Apollons Axle. That 2" diameter bar is a bear to grip; therefore using it for deads, cleans, etc. greatly enhances grip for those exercises.

AMEN!!!!

Anyone ever notice that most men who can close the 3 for reps ane JK who has done the number 4...really aren't very big anywhere?

I could order a set of thick bar handles from Ironmind, but not cheap though.

time to wrap the bars then :)

I did some 10lb plate pinches today - pretty easy on the right hand for a min after all my rows and stuff, left was much weaker though.

jut buy a steel pole from a metal centre the same size as the holes of an olympic bar

or buy a hollow metal tube about 2 inch in diameter and fill with sand and plug the ends...you can increase the weight by adding lead shot to the sand as you go

Hmm interesting - after yesterday's combined thrashing from explosive dumbell rows with 115lbs and 2x10lb plate pinch holds my forearms are a 1/4 inch bigger :)

also I tried some 10lb plate supinating plate curls here at home, hmm that is a bit of a grip killer too while you work your elbow flexors.

has anyone else here used a towel hung over a bar for pull-ups?

if you can do ten with your bodyweight you have a good grip...lol
