Calories burnt with cardio.

I know treadmills and other cardio machines have a very rough accuracy for giving you calories burnt, but since I always use the same make of treadmills (the ones in my gym), I use the calorie counter as my goal for the sessions. (you also punch in your weight and age for more accuracy).

For example, I have been cutting lately and doing 30min of empty stomach cardio in the am on the treadmill. I always shoot for 370-390 cals for this amount of time. (I walk @ 7.4 Km/h @ 7-9% incline)

I also put everything in my training log. I can, for example, read now that I have burnt a total of 2150 cals the last 7 days.

I was wondering if anyone tracks the calories burnt while doing cardio, and would like to hear some numbers you aim for per session.

Normally they aren't accurate, but they can give you a rough idea. Everyones metabolism is just too different to accurately guage this. I'm 260 pounds and when I walk at 3.5mph no incline for 60 minutes I burn over 700 caloires.

beezers, how have you made out with that cardio? I tried that same thing for a couple weeks but didnt feel like it was intense enough to burn a good amount of fat. Now I ride the bike for 20 mins and then jog on the treadmill for 20-25mins. Believe me, I would much rather walk for 60 mins then what Im doing now if they equal out.

Lately I've been hitting the bike up for like 20 miutes before I work out. Some people may argue and say that this will make you tired before you lift but for me personaly I've been getting pretty good results and it also gets my heart going and gets me sweatin that give me a little extra pump to go lift.Than after my workout or sometimes later that evening depending how my schedule is I'll hit up the treadmill.

i do the olyptical four days a week for 35 minutes..put my weight which is 181 and do it for 35 minutes and burn any where from 600-630 cals then I do 5 minutes on the tredmill, I have very bad feet so can't handle the treadmill...try that machine its the shit!!!
