Bringing this back, Training and thick muscle waist

Enock

New member
This had already come up but I want to bring it back under a new thread since its always in the back of my mind.

The topic at hand it training methods/movements ect... that end up lending themselves to giving you a larger girth to your midsection despite you leanness.

Now obviously certain steroids/gh play into a here also the most determing factor genetics.

Some people are ripped but still stuck at a 36" waist while others get down to 30" or so. I remember a powerlifter complaing of his girth and blocky midsection.

Some say squats/deads are the culprit no one seems to have any thing for sure say.

So of course no one is going to abandon either based on theory.

It has at anyrate effective the quality of my squat sessions. Despite the fact that I love them In the back of my mind is the question "Is this detrimental to my waist size?"

Anyone have any thoughts on the subject please respond.

What did zane do for legs? anyidea I know hes has some wack ass squat time machine sold under his name but thats all I know and doesn't lend itself to any information.

Just look at strongman style waists vs. model style waists.

Is there a link saying if I get to big my waist will grow to stay balanced god damnit. I've a feeling its more w/ training techniques there. There no way its all based on whether you train obliques heavy or not either. Thoughts oppinions flames

I'm thick waisted...I can be totally ripped and my waist will be 34". I started out as a powerlifter, and swithced to bodybuilding...so I've always done the big compound movements with heavy weight, and even trained abs w/ heavy weight. But hey, I'm not here to look like a underwear model, I want to be a 300lb beast!!! (only 50 more lbs...LOL)

I think genetics play a very imprtant role in this, I squat and deadlift very heavy without a belt, and my waist is still under 30" when I'm shredded, but I've seen other guys get thick there from doing the same exercises. Look at flex wheeler, you can't tell me he doesn't squat heavy and his waist is tiny.

Hope this helps! It shows how Zane posistions his legs on the leg press and his opinions on diff exersces.

Thin waist = no strength.

I have never seen anyone with a 30" waist squat or deadlift anything substantial.

Doing these movements are going to make your spinal erectors and abdominals enlarge. At my leanest I have a 34 inch waist, mainly because my lower back muscles are twice the size of most people my weight.

I am sure that Flex Wheeler has at least a 34 or 35 inch waist.
