Bootcamp training tips?

*exclamer* I talk for myself and what happened in my training facility in Saint Jean Quebec. Your experiance/s may be completely different.

Find out what your tested on. When I was in the navy reserve we were tested on: Pushups, situps, shuttle run, chinups.

Don't forget inspections! They will make or break you if you can't: Iron (biggy!), make a bed 'perfect', shine your boots like a mirror, clean your gun, uniform, hygiene (shaving, shower, clean hands, don't smell), etc..

The instructors will always be saying "PATTENTION TO DETAIL!!!" You will have to be tedious with your room setup.

Most of all bootcamp is about finding out if you can take 'stress,' and for a long time! Not just physical but 'mental.' It will be far more mentally enduring then physical, especially when your getting less then 4 hours of sleep a night and falling asleep in class. That just leads to extra trouble from your instructers..

Its not easy thats for sure. You'll be given warnings that you have to sign, and if you get enough of these then you out! These warnings can result from as little as not filling your water bottle up all the way to dust found on the shelve. Whatever the instructer says, happens. You have no say, just go along with it. Also if the instructer/s don't like your 'attitude' in any way, your gone! It doesn't matter if your 'perfect.' Your gone! You could blow it with 'one' bad remark! Its not worth it! Keep youy mouth shut!

When I was in basic training (bootcamp) we started out with 65 people, 24 graduated. They want the 'best.' They won't settle for a physical endurance master who can't pass inspection and/or pass class. Oh yeah, lol, you have classes all day. You will be overloaded with information to study plus be given little extra tasks (that 'have' to be done and perpetually increase), ontop of inspection preperation (massive stuff). You have to decide what you think is most importent because you won't be able to do it all.

I wanted to do it all. Couldn't. I would go to sleep at 10:00 and wake up early (not allowed, you can get a write-up for it) at 2:00 to make, iron, measure perfectly, and starch my bed. Yes, my bed! Infact I tried sleeping ontop of my bed so I wouldn't have to make it. I got caught! Then I would do the rest of the insane setup for inspection. I would be 'running' around 'all' the time! So much in fact that if I stopped I would get this euphoria of bliss by standing still, followed shortly by an incredible feeling of guilt (cause I would think I'll not get enough done and be in trouble), followed by running around frantically again..

They'll make you do things that just don't make sense, period. They'll try to get your friends to turn on you by making the team suffer for your mistakes, and you know what, it works! Under stress and manic depression they'll start to hate you, even if you 'thought' you were great friends. Friends also like to steal, even your socks and underwear! (My bootpolish, raincoat and boots were gone on the first fucking day! I was in trouble everyday from then on because I couldn't afford to buy new stuff back.) They don't 'want' to take your possessions per say, they just 'will' have to because your socks and underwear, etc, are counted and if someone loses theirs they'll take yours. They'll get a write-up if they don't. Now 'your' the one being written up.

Your instructers will yell at you as if it was totally personal. Its not,. but it sure 'feels' like it! You will be totally centered out. Don't worry, your fine. They just wanna see if they can make you crack. I am completely assuming, but I would guess that the instructers actually make 'bets/wagers' on who they can kick out with each-other, or who can get the 'most' to quit. Don't be on that list if it exists.

They will ask you the craziest questions that either way you lose. Them "why is your bed not made?" You "No time (rank)" Them "What do you mean you didn't have time? You had from blah to blah blah..." Theres no fighting it, thats why I came up with the ultimate excuse for absolutely everything I did wrong. If they ask you why you did anything wrong just say "no excuse." They cannot combat that. You have said what you have done is unacceptable. Don't say "No excuse, it won't happen again." It 'will' happen again and you've said it wouldn't so you will be in more trouble next time surely. Don't answer a statment also. If they say "YOUR A PIG!" don't be a loser and say "Yes (rank)" Don't answer, and if they ask you why say "I presumed that was a statment (rank)"

Ok, enough is enough. I'm not even sure if this is helping...
