Body Fat?

how do u figure your body fat? can i do it myself or does it require a professional? im 17 and im just now getting into dieting.. 6'5'' 305 (football).. down to 280 since christmas.. (lipodrene diet pills w/ ephedra)
 
You can do it yourself, buy some fat calipers and then obtain the measurements for different points of your body (triceps, back, abs, thigh, calve, etc.). I think there are some cheap ones online.

With these measurements you add them up and put them into a formula that will be according to your age and weight.

At 17 you don't need a diet or bodyfat measurements. You are 6'5, 280lbs., right now...you should just stick to what you're doing and clean up your diet - take out the junk food and softdrinks, as a start. Your body is still developing, you need to take the natural approach.

What is the natural approach? eat healthy, exercise (which you already do), sleep at least 8 hours per day, and drink 15 glasses+ of pure water (not softdrinks) per day. Enjoy your life while you can, but stay healthy.
 
i second what Mr. X said. For me when I was your age. As soon as I quit playing sports (football, track, wrestling) I started drinking more soda and consequently gain a good amount of fat.
I would have to say above all else, soda pop, and fast food are by far the top reasons people get fat easily. Next to those is junk food (chips, little debbie treats and the like (ding dongs, twinkies, etc)). As far as dieting goes, if you simply just cut those things out completely. And eat anything BUT that stuff, it is a much easier transition rather than having a specific 'diet' you have to follow
 
my diet is bad right now.. in that i mean i eat hardly anything.. right now im eating a grilled chicken salad each day, rarely anything else, and never after 4pm.. its too good that its bad.. im 278 now. down from 305 (since mid december).. all my maxes are up too.. im doing it with more lifting and not as much cardio.. its workin
 
That "diet" is going to backfire on you big time! Your metabolism is going to slow to a crawl, you will be losing muscle, storing fat. Ratios will get musch worse.(fat to muscle)

that ruins my day.. im not very experienced with this so i didnt know that.. i hate the thought of "dialing in my diet".. too much effort.. i figured just eat tiny bits and work out hard.. i'll eat
 
so i've decided im going to bulk now.. i lost 30 in 4 wks.. now im going to eat a lil more and add whey shakes and masterdrol (supplement).. possible to bulk with this?
