you may very well have a point. I just wonder if our current "social" system, not just the economic system....is responsible for a portion of our society not giving a fuck and not wanting to work towards the greater good of society. In some respects I can understand some peoples sentiments that no matter how hard I work, I'm always going to be right at the water line gasping for air....so why bother and just go on govt. assistance...??? There's alot at work here, I'm not blaming capitalism. Capitalism was just the tool used by a few to oppress the many just as socialism was used in exactly the same way in the old soviet union. It's the parasitic nature of our free market that bothers me. The great hoax is that it really isn't a free market at all....which is something the old boy pluneky knows all to well but wouldn't dare admit lest he get his membership card revoked and/or a visit from the boys in the middle of the night. lol

Although I am sure you can realate to this first-hand, it has nothing to do with capitalism and everything to do with your mindset and approach to life. The fact that you can't seem to get ahead is just proof to me that the system is working as intended.

I'll counter with this: we're not responsible enough as a society to enact socialism. There are simply too many lazy parasites who'd rather milk the system than work hard and contribute to it. When that happens, those that are working hard see the leeches sucking the system dry and lose motivation to work so hard to support parasites. Socialism only works when the VAST majority of the population is a productive member of society. It doesn't work when you have generations of welfare bums by the hundreds of thousands, and illegals who don't pay taxes by the millions.

First you have to have the "national" element locked in, being "one" united society, and have stricter expectations out of the populous. We don't have that in the U.S. We're more divided than ever with everyone on a different page, and before socialism could ever work here, we'd have to correct that. Being a smaller nation would of coure make the task easier as well.
