i really want some peakin bis. currently i have access to dumbells and barbells. for time convenience, i've been using the barbell...but which is better?

Just for degenerate's benefit, I felt it was worth mentioning that the mockery is directed towards someone else, not at her. :)

I may get flamed for this but that woudn't be anything new lately, anyway you can't change the shape of your bicep, but I do believe you can emphasize certain areas of it. I never used to have a peak to my biceps, but since I started preacher curls and incline dumbell curls a few years back, I have grown a noticable one. Basically though, the bigger your bi's get, the bigger the peak will be.

I had a good peak before ever working my bi's, they simply got bigger. Generally, when it gets bigger, the "defects" become less noticeable.
