Thank you Hannibal.

I got this idea from a video that bigokie was nice enough to let me borrow showing George Halbert doing these. Had Mrs. Benchmonster take these pics to give you an idea of the setup.

Ignore the guy in the pic who looks like he has never lifted a weight, just thought an action shot would be more interesting than just a pic of the setup by itself.

haha....

come on give yourself some credit. that guy looks like he has been lifting at least a month. just kidding.

hey, can i post some of these pics to my server? as i have been telling people, i am trying to build up an archive of stuff.

irish?

Nice pics, Mr. Jacked-Up! Damn, the ring presses look tough. Much pain to be inflicted upon the unwary. I like it, I like it a lot.

Irish,

You can post any pic of me or any pic I take. This permission goes on ad infinitum.

Twitched, thanks. My back, and my depth from upper back through chest are probably my best physical features.

Spatterson, it is a pretty easy and inexpensive setup and the workout you get from it is insane.

Hannibal, we gotta rig that up!

NOT with your shoulder....not yet anyway. If you think the bands are unstable...the rings are just as bad. One wrong move and your shoulder will POP again.

When it is no longer popping on you we will add it to the rotation to "bulletproof" it.

I have to agree with Hannibal. This movement would be hard enough on a fully functional shoulder. I wouldn't mess with the rings on a bad shoulder(s). They are similar to a full-range dip but more intense because of the extreme stretch and stability issues. A very advanced movement by any standards.

I know it is a bit relative, but this movement is only for the very very strong in my opinion. I seriously doubt that many females out there could do this movement, at least not with full range reps.

Those rings are trying like Hell to run away from you and you have to hold your bodyweight up while trying to keep those rings from going all over the place. This is why they work so well, but also why they are so difficult.

If you weigh around 200 and cannot bench 300, be really really careful when starting these, I would definately not put your feet on the bench to start off, or you may tear a pec, dislocate a shoulder and do a monster face plant in pretty short order.

I did 3 sets of 10 the second time I did these and that was absolutely all there was. I knew I could not have done a 4th set. But if you are fairly advanced, I really think they can increase your stabilizer strength, and probably help you handle big weights more safely.
