hello everyone..
i forgot to say hello earlier.. i have only made two previous post prior to this one... so- i am new to the board.. i am curious if i could get some advice on a good diet.... right now i do try to watch what i eat.. but i don't think i do such a wonderful job... i eat stuff that says- low in fat or fat free- i have no concept of any other way to eat... my boyfriend is trying to explain and help me out but... i was wanting other females opinions and diet plans.. right now i am not lifting weights.. i do exercise a little... but not as much as i would like to... i work full time during the day and go to college fulltime at night... so it's hard to make enough time for everything... but i am fixing to start... i will have the summer off-- that's when i plan on really getting in shape...
i do try to drink all water and no soda, sweet tea or juice.. but i am from the south!! it's unnatural to not drink sweet tea... sweets (basically candy) is my biggest downfall... i am addicted to taking fat burning pills.. but i have promised my boyfriend i would stop--- so--- i am gonna keep my promise...
like i mentioned in my other post... i have started taking test cyp for medical reasons only... and i just want to make sure i don't gain weight.. so any input on a diet would be wonderful!!!
thanks...

1-you must eliminate candy. 2-fat free does not mean good for your appearance-Fat can be very good for you-it is carbs that can be your downfall. You should try to eat 6-8 small meals a day(Very low carb) and you may want to buy the atkins diet book for a detailed plan

1. Attempt to eliminate candy. Everyone (even pros!) has "cheat Days". You may want to try to wean yourself, down - only 1 small serving every day or or other day, then down to one cheat meal a week.
2. You do need fat, but you don't need sugar. Fat free stuff is normally high in sugar & sodium sometimes too. It's basically NOT anywhere near close to nature. You should eat as close to nature as possible always. (unprocessed, etc.)

Don't wait. DO IT NOW - start making healtier choices. If you can only workout 3X per week for 45 min, DO IT! You can exercise more in the summer, but don't wait to clean up your diet! It is SOO important.

try www.fitday.com for keeping track of things. Yes, it may be a *little* time consuming to do (not so much once you get used to it, though) but you MUST keep track of what you eat so you KNOW if you're getting enough of everything or too much. Once you keep track a few days, you get an idea of how much you should be eating & then you won't always have to count everything (if you're not trying to follow a strict specific program, that is).

Check the 'preparing secrets' thread for food tips. Eating clean really doesn't have to be that difficult. I suggest making changes that you are comfortable with bit by bit, if you make a huge drastic change, it will be so hard to adjust, you may end up giving up on the whole thing. You don't need your diet to be another source of stress to you, make sure you can live with it - but cut those sweets!

& no excuses about your environment/culture [the south] many of us here are Americans, & our culture is about fast food, convenience, indulgence, burgers & fries, etc. - we chose not to conform to the sedentary obese masses & you should make that choice too! he he Seriously though... you will be in the minority eating 'clean', but it's the right thing to do!

i know i can do it... i have the desire and determination... i just need the basic knowledge & understanding... thanks for the input..

i have a question...

if i eliminate sugar... then that means no fruit? i was always under the impression that it's good for you?

fruit is awful for you because it is responsible for an insulin spike-goto www.mendosa.com for more details

Nope, fruit is good! Too much can impede you from losing fat but up to 2 servings a day is fine for most ppl.

When we're talking about sugar, we mean 'refined sugar' - also often referred to as simple carbs/ simple sugars.

When you eat a piece of fruit, you also get fiber & it doens't (most fruits) spike your blood sugar the way refined sugar (candy, table sugar, sweets, etc.) would. Some things that are higher GI (see the web site diamonddiceclay posted) can be combined with a low GI food, such as oatmeal.

Spatts - LM :mommakin: off! HA HA
I hope that didn't come off as harsh - like bitching at oicu812. I was attempting to be inspirational! :) Putting it off till tomorrow is never a good thing, that's all I wanted to convey.

i am not putting it off... i just want to make sure i am eating the right way and the right things... i know i have to eliminate a lot of the sugar intake... and i am working on it... i have cut down lots!!!
honest... i use to go thru 3 bags of gummy worms a day!!!
i haven't seen a worm in a week now!!! that's good for me... and i am trying to convinve my mouth that sugarless gum is as good a bubbalious
