And for traps?

How many sets do yuo guys do for traps? I've currently been doing 6 sets of hammer strength shrugs and my traps have gotten a litle better, although I did only 4 sets up till not long ago. I know deads are where it's at for trap developement, you feel it in the traps the next few days like with no othere exercise. After being out for a month because of a herniated disc though, I don't plan on jeopardizing things by aggrivating it again. Call me a pussy, but I just won't do it, at least not at this point. I do leg presses now to replace squats as well. My knees were wearin down some anyway, so it's just as well, at least for now. Anyway, just wondering how many sets you guys use like I said. Thanks.

3 sets or barbell or dumbell shrugs. ;) That's just me personally. I have good genetics in the trap department. Was only doing 1 set during back days actually prior to cycle.

Close grip straight bar shrugs have worked for me. If you really want to catch your traps on fire, then superset the straight bar shrugs with a set of dumbbell shrugs!

You guys want to experience EXPLOSIVE trap developement?Try POWER CLEANS.Lean slightly forward at the beginning of each rep,and feel your traps actually rocket the bar up off the front of your thighs.Work your way up in poundages gradually(making sure to always 'feel' the traps moving that weight up)and in a month or so you will be amazed at how much your traps have developed.

Huck always has the answers. I can't wait till you write that book we're all lobbying for.
