Almonds as a protein/fat source when cutting?

Recently I've been getting pretty sick of downing olive oil mixed with water to get some healthy fats while I'm on this cutting diet. I was thinking about using almonds instead of olive oil in one of my meals (second lunch). What do you all think about almonds as a source of fat (and protein) while on a cutting diet?

I eat an ounce a day! :) They are great as a good source of fat/protein, and I also like them because if you buy them salted, they're a good way to replace some of the salt lost via sweat (I sweat a lot at the gym, especially in summer since the gym I go to is not air conditioned, but I hate drinking sports drinks. I mix together about 1/3 oz salted and the rest unsalted in a baggie so they're not too salty...I don't use salt on anything else I eat.)

Almonds are a good source of healthy fats. Walnuts are a little better for getting omega 3s. Nuts are calorie packed so be careful on the amount. I find its best to weigh them rather than do the "handful" method. Our hands can get suprisingly big when measuring tasty foods. ;)

Downing cold press flax seed oil straight isn't difficult and has no real aftertaste. No difficulty doing 60g a day for days on end here.

I eat almonds pretty much daily myself....till I ran out yesterday....:(

I like almonds on top of cottage cheese and on top of berries....YUM!

yeah ive seen lots of studies about it on the news and even the radio about almonds kicking ass...thats really what the news says!
