yes, i know... long overdue... i am so sorry to keep you guys uninformed but here goes....
we now focus on the AFC east...

PATTY's... i have said over and over how good i think drew bledsoe is, i stand by that.. he is a pure pocket passer... he reminds me of dan the man in many ways... i have also said he is "the next dan marino"... i got bashed by people for that... anyway, what i mean by this is that drew will set every club record possible (already has), he will have all the solo acheivements, he also took his team to the superbowl very early on... the problem is that he has had no stable running back since martin split for the jets... robert edwards steps in and does a great job then he blows out his knee playing beach football... well, the pats are without their best deep threat, their best control receiver too... glenn is gone for the year cuz he is a baby... they have antwoine smith at running back, and he will step in and help out actually... cant be worse than last years set of running backs... offensive line was HORRID last year, drew was constantly pressured and it showed in his performance... fortunately for the pats, they signed 2 quality OL's... unfortunately for drew they are more solid in the middle of the line than at the tackles... BOOM, he better have a running game...

defense has a solid secondary, including a top 5 safety and veteran corners... linebacker is hurting with katzenmoyer's neck all jacked up. ted johnson and bruschi have been banged up the last few years, one of them tore their bicep and missed most of the season 2 years ago and didnt get back full form last year.. the DLINE was not a good unit last year, willie mcginnest is their best player year in and out, but he is smallish and gets double teamed with no help... they drafted a guy from georgia to help out... i dont know him, didnt watch georgia games... :) defense will be sub par, offense will be adequate... that means a poor showing, especially playing in a division that has 4 other quality teams...the good news for pats fans is their non division games are against: cinci, carolina, sandiego, cleveland... and a couple burners with the saints and rams... PATS WILL WIN 6... sure to get a few upsets along the way, and lets not forget last year they COULD have been 6-0 to start but they lost their first 4 games by under 7 pts each, and had the ball in position a few times that i recall...
side note... michael bishop was cut yesterday, so its all drew, all the time... i guess it better be if you are paying him 100million dollars.

J-E-T-S.. jets jets jets... vinny and the jets... i'm not a fan of vinny... ONE good year does not make him a top notch qb.. with that said, i think his time has come to step aside... chad pennington, the guy who threw the ball to randy moss in college and led a stampeding herd, is gonna take over soon enough... looking at the schedule i'd say around mid october... at that time the jets could be 1-4 or so... they have a rough start with the colts and raiders.. that will cause some uproar in NY... in steps pennington and he gets to play against the panthers, bengals, and pats... helping the team win 6 games....a few good notes for the offense, santana moss will be everything that keyshawn johnson said keyshawn johnsoon was... well, maybe not THAT good, but he will outperform keyshawn's new york performance... the jets have martin to wear down other teams, thats why they will be competitive, despite a poor record.

on defense, the jets seem very vanilla.. they have an awesome linebacking crew with depth seeing how they have james darling from my beloved birds... darling was always under rated... mo lewis, marvin jones, and james farrior in their too... a few solid spots in the secondary with glenn and green... on the other side they have that midget ray mickens... mickens is like a gas soaked rag at a smokers convention.. just waiting to be burned... (hey, i like that!!!)

jets win 6.... vinny goes to dallas after the season... hahaha

BEEFALO BILLIES... doug flutie is gone... their is no qb controversy... its rob johnsons team now... what a mistake!!!! this fuck cant go to an all you can eat buffet without getting hurt... they are gonna have to rely on van pelt at least 3 times during the year... and thats bad... i love their rookie rb travis henry... the guy somehow doesnt get mentioned much, yet he left tennessee as their best running back ever (stat wise)... yes, better than mr. ravens jamal lewis!!! they also have depth at rb, their two backups have each started... hell, their "backups" may start this year too, i dont know their rotation... they got centers from the skins too, so they have good backs with good hands... receievers are solid too.. moulds should have a huge year... peerless price may wanna step it up a little and contribute. and you cant go wrong with an ex wolverine as your tight end.. GO BLUE!!!

on defense the bills lost their top 2 linemen... wiley and mr. bohemoth washington... that will hurt their run defense. a subpar front four this year with one GOOD linebacker behind them... a weak secondary with no studs and just an average pair of corners... they better blitz a lot to take pressure off these guys...

interesting, as i look at the schedule i am starting to think they too will have a sub .500 year... they have a tough non division schedule that includes the niners, saints, ravens, and pack.... give them 7 wins tops... and much bitching from the flutie faithful...

FINALLY, the top teams... colts and fish... one is an offensive machine, the other is a run the ball wear em out offense with a swarming defense... can the fish have another stellar year??? will the three prongued attack of the colts put up insane numbers???

offense: colts have it all... the top passing qb in the game (fuck warner), a great running back, and an incredible receiver... solid tight ends and good 2 and 3 receivers... the fish have a qb that has new weapons and speed outside and lamar smith, a former castaway who exploded last year... fish will throw deep this year, yet will run the clock with lamar smith... i like minor as a 3rd down back, he seems shifty as hell in the preseason games... smith can run 40 times if needed (see playoff game last year)... i'd say the edge here is to the colts.. the fish have solid skill spots,. the colts have awesome ones...

defense: whats to compare??? indy couldnt stop water from running on them even if it had a faucet... the fish are relentless in pursuit of the ball... i do think losing armstrong will hurt the line a little... not too much though... the linebackers are solid but only one needs mentioning... the guy is every where...hell, the guy is in so many places during a game i bet he nails shagwell in the brown eye AND still makes the tackle on the field before she even knows what is going on.... dont get your hopes up thick dog, he wont be nailing you...
the corners on the fish are second to none... and yet they draft another with their top pick... and he will even help out... especially against teh colts in the nickel.... SOLID DEFENSE... as for the colts, they need to cross their fingers... no stand out defenders... barely average defensively... and thats being kind... i'm giving the division to MIAMI because they play the falcons AND the panthers... 11-5 fish, 10-6 colts...

I thought the Colts were gonna step it up and make a serious SuperBowl run last year(I believe they were my preseason favorite to represent the AFC) But they haven't risen to the next level on the defensive side of the ball and I see no real improvement from a year ago. I think they are a very good team and would not want to face them in the Playoffs, but until they get some defensive help, I don't see them making it to the big game. They're offense isn't quite what the Ram's is. The Dolphins most closely resemeble the Ravens of any team in the league, power running , great defense. At most positions, though, they have slight downgrades from the Ravens, let me emphasize SLIGHT. I'm not sold on Jay Fiedler, I think if he plays within himself andplays conservative football, he is good for the team. Once he starts winning some games and gets confidance, he starts to do more than he is capable of and makes too many mistakes. Unfortunately, he may have to step up and carry the offesne in the playoffs, which I don't think he is capable of doing. It should be a close race between these 2 teams.

hey bomber.. what's your take on the browns and their chances of having a winning season in the next 3 years and reaching the playoffs in the next 5?

Indy
Miami
NY Jets
Buffalo
New Engie

Indy-big offense, average defense. Need another good receiver, maybe Wayne will come in and be that guy. They need some defensive upgrades to make a serious bowl run.

Miami- they won't go to the super bowl as long as Dave Wannstedt is there coach. This guy should just stick to being the defensive guru he is and shut up. Shitty QB situation there. Upgrade on receivers.

NY Jets- Upgrade at receiver, to help out Chrebet, bring back tuna, all is well.

Buffalo- got rid of that troll of a head coach, forgot that guys name. They have a list of about 4-5 running backs looking for playing time, kinda like KC last year. I'm not sure if Rob Johnson is capable of running this offense. Everytime the guy drops back, he goes on the disabled list over a hangnail the pussy. Upgrade at RB and get some one to help out Moulds.

NE- need a running game. Offensive line upgrades all over the place, Bledsoe can only do so much on his own. WR upgrades, Troy Brown is decent, but then who? Terry Glenn is done fer. I forgot why he was suspended this year. Either the dope, or he beat his broad or somethin, the usual.

Anyone of these teams that make the playoffs could be bounced in the first round, granted they don't play each other like Fish/Colts did last year, which Miami came back from a HUGE deficit to knock off Indy, I'm still sick over it. I'm partial to Indy, they could go a litle farther if they d up.

Actually, the Jets other corner is Marcus Coleman, who is 6'2" and developing into a Pro-Bowl caliber corner. With the signing of Robinson, they will have one of the most solid all around defensive backfields in the league. Their problem lies in the DL, where Ferguson is out for the year and Ellis is having difficulty learning a new position. Expect big things from John Abraham this year.

The team will go as far as Vinny can take them. I am not a big Vinny fan, but he has had 2-3 good years in the league. Maybe we can squeeze one more out of him.:fro:

mickens is a back up now? does not change their outlook...

for whoever asked... the browns are on the right track and i think will be a playoff team within 3 years... DL is getting solid, if they hit the FA market next season they will move up another notch, and tennessee, though very deep and good will be dropping down as a power in the division unless they find a receiving corps.... maybe dyson will come back and light it up, but for now they are weak out there... it could have to do with mcnair not taking chances but he also does not throw picks often... so thats a big plus at the same time... regardless, the browns will challenge for a playoff spot within 3 years, i'd venture to guess with a good draft this year and next they would be a playoff team.... who knows, this jackson kid may spark them up this year.... (not playoff level but competitive weekly)

colts have good receivers on their roster, i am still sold on pathon, that little fuck moves....
