abs

how can I shred my abs? I have a good diet, so that isnt a limiting factor. I eat a lot, probably more than I should. here is what I do for abs

hanging leg raises 2x12
hanging leg raises to the side 2x8 each side
decline knee raises 3x8
hyperextensions 2x12
hyperextensions for the 2x8 each side
crunches, well when I feel like doing them 3x15

by the time I am finished with this I am toast and this is with as little rest as possible, 5 deep breaths between each set, and 1 minute between exercises...

All those exercises will develop great abs but you won't see them unless you shed the fat. I'll give you an example, my brother's daughter is 10, she has very low bodyfat by nature and you can see her abs. I noticed this when she went in the pool during a backyard bbq. I said hey bro, why don't you give the kid a break in the training. He says check it out, calls her over and tells her to do a sit up, she can't do any! My wife was pissed she trains her abs and just sees the faint outline! :biggrin:
 
genetics, schmanetics... sometimes, if I dont eat one nite, the next morning, my abs are more visible, and my belly is almost gone, but I am extremely hungry at this point, so how can I offset this?
 
Genetics shouldn't even be a word when it comes to giving training or diet advice. Some people have better genetics for some things, others don't. So what? It's not like we can change it, so why even bring it up??

It's an excuse.
 
i agree with working the abs so when you shed the fat you will see some nice developed abs,but diet is the key to see your abs,all the leg raises or crunches in the world won't mean shit without a good diet.....
