Abs made in the kitchen?

RADAR

Well-known member
or should i say a small waist is made in the kitchen, to aquire a 6 pack of abs you have to train them as you would any other muscle.

Please discuss.

yes and no

to show good definition in the abs , this is definitely made in the kitchen
for a weak core,an instant "corsetting" effect is had with some core training

also there is definitely a genetic predetermination as to what they'll actually look like when theyre stripped of the fat layer and appropriately hard

You often hear/see people complaining about being fit and lean everywhere except the midsection...they work out constantly but don't eat a clean enough diet, once they start eating clean the layer on the midsection disappears

And yes genetics plays a huge part as well.

But I'm a firm believer in abs being made in the kitchen. No matter how hard you work in the gym, if you don't eat correctly, you won't see your body's full potential

For me the only way to get down to lean abbs is diet coupled with intense cardio. I can't do it without both or just not fast enough to keep with it. Without the intense cardio it happens so slow I just end up quitting.

I believe everything is built in the kitchen.. if you want to get abs then you diet must be pretty on point.. of you want big ass muscles then your diet must also he on point but just larger quantities.. but I don't believe in the whole cutting/bulking cycles.. a lean bulk is slower but better in the long run.. I worked hard to get abs showing why would o not want them their all year instead of just half the year..

I use to wrestle in college so i guess that gave me my 6 pack as i was doing incline situps with a 45 lb plate on my chest.
I still work them moderately so when i strip my bf they really shine.

Thanks everyone for the imput.

This was helpful. I have been trying REAL hard the past 2 months to get abs. Diet has been clean ever since November 2012. Added more weighted ab excersies and have been working them more directly the past 4 weeks and the definition is finally coming! :)

Thats Great! Keep it up :)

You always have to train your muscles to be able to say "I have them" but I guess there isn't a right answer.
I know cases of guys who were doing a military course and they lost 17 pounds in the first week, they got stupid ripped in the mid section and they were eating ridiculous amounts of pizza, chocolates and hamburguers the whole week, all day long, yes, all day long, so in this case the kitchen was a mess out of any logic.
This ridiculous way of eating was overwhelmed by the ridiculous way of doing cardio and exercises of all kinds.
On the other hand we have for instance the ketogenic diet which has been documented to be the fastest way of losing fat drug free.

I would say "Abdominals are made on a super healthy equilibrium"

Abs are about 90% diet and 10% genetics in my strong opinion. Developing a strong core is important through exercise, but it plays a very small role in appearance. Dropping bodyfat and water while tightening the skin is where it's at.
