Whats up guys.
I have been working out for a while now. I dont get sore anymore. I was workign out 5 times a week doing chest and back on the same day twice a week and arms and shoulders also twice a week. and legs once a week. I am very educated about lifting and diet. My diet is boring. It is chicken . potatoes . tuna , 3 shakes. and the inbetween stuff like a bagel or pbj sandwich . i was wondering what i can do to get sore again. Training wise. And honestly how do u really know u are overworking a muscle.

getting sore isnt always indicative of hypertrophy. in the words of shawn ray "stimulate, dont annihlate."

if you want to get sore, put more time into your negatives. 4 second negs ought to do it.

didnt lee haney say that?

something like "lee says: s'imulate, dont annihlate"

he is the most annoyind dude in the world:
"this is a lee haney weight"
"mind muscle connection...making 1 rep equal 2"

cant figure out why he always talks about him self as the 3rd person.

ANNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYWAAAAAAYYYYYYY
also switching to a exercise you havent done for a while will make you sore.

i never get sore.......so i dont use it as a measure

the guys above are correct, soreness is not always indicative of hypertrophy, in fact, sometimes it is caused solely by improper stretching pre workout, or poor form in your lifts. that said, you can get big without soreness.

if you like the soreness feeling, which isnt really painful - almost enjoyable - then i would try incorporating some intensity principles into your workouts. i have about 25 that i could tell you about, here are a few:

Continuous Tension Principle
Cycle Training Principle
Double Split Principle
Eclectic Training Principle
Flushing Principle
Forced Repetitions
Instinctive Principle

there are many more. these may help you shock your muscles into new growth as well as making them sore as you are looking to do.

post more info on your training / diet so i can give you some more helpful info
