Thats fucking bullshit hammy if they abandon it, we already step upped to the plate and made the decision to bet, you cant take that away. They should have it setup so they event closes once they cant cover the bet or something. You cant eliminate this problem afterwards b/c you cant predict the bettings. Its a messed up system so outline a way to fix it. Weve bet, weve had to suffer the long wait til the game starts, the payoff is if they win, dont bogart the feeling

im not criticizing the bettors at all
im criticizing the fact that this thread wasnt locked as soon as it was put up, because it was obvious that this was going to happen

So basically you are saying the hardest part of all karma betting is deciding to put your karma on the line? You're correct, it's extremely difficult to type in a numeric figure and hit bet. FYI, yes, we can take the fact that you decided to place a karma wager away. All it takes is a PM to a mod and the event is abandoned.

Setting it up so the event closes once the bookie can't settle is what myself and the hammymaing have been saying this whole time. Yes, the system is flawed and allows a bookie to risk being in red upon creating an event's odds and maximum k wager. We know this and are finally speaking up.

We are outlining a way to fix it.

You don't "suffer" by waiting until the game starts since you placed your bet. You want to know what suffering is? Visit the kids who work in the diamond mines in Sierra Leone, that should make you feel a little better about putting some internet based reward system which can be taken away with the click of an admin's button or server failure down. If you can't agree, I suggest you enroll yourself into a gambling addiction group.
