You ladies are amazing...and that's an understatement!

Treilin...I'm definitely going to check out your journal. When do you start?
I start cutting in about 17 days... I need to get the exact date again from my trainer. You can do it, you just have to have someone willing to back you. If your trainer is already talking like you can't do it.. then I would find a different trainer. At your stats I don't see why it is unobtainable? Unless there is a medical condition I don't know about... Or if you haven't figured out how your body gains and loses fat.... I mean you have to just try it out and go from there. I mean This is my first show I'm going to be on stage even if I'm on crutches (I hope I didn't just jinx myself), But if you are going to do this you need to get those suits ordered pronto!!!!

Wanted to say - you should actually be able to cut nicely - you have a nice set of quads going and very nice lines already. And I agree - if you aren't getting what you need from your trainer, find another one. Personal training & contest prep is a very one-on-one position - if the person doesn't meet the needs, find another one. Otherwise just keep those lines of communication wide open and make sure you are learning & not just blindly following what this person tells you. There's' a reason behind the basic ideas of nutrition & training, and then you need to go a level deeper to find how your body responds to those basic approaches. Its always a big personal experiement and each thing you try is something you can add to your arsenal of tools for fitness or remove so you don't have to mess w/ it again.

Thank you, Sassy!

After talking with my trainer, she told me a lot of what you told me. She's actually a competitor and has competed for many years, so I trust her. She's said that I am top priority because she knows that I work hard and I don't give up or give in.

I recall you and Bunny's backdoor PB chucking. :goof:

I have ~120 lbs of lean mass. Of course, that all depends on whether or not the caliper reading is correct. I've been training on and off for many years, but training hard and eating clean for about 2 years.

After reading that, I have a bit more realistic view of what is expected of me and of this experience. I might as well work hard and enjoy it!

Treilin, I am planning on jeweling my own suits. I figure I will need something to do on the weekend. :) I need to order plain suits and get to work ASAP. Have you ordered yours? Have you decided if you are going to start a new journal or just going to keep the one that you have now? I did read that you are a bit attached to your current one. hehe

Maybe I'll start a journal as well...

i think you are certainly able to get in contest shape....we are our worst critics..but you have a great base..and theres a lot of good info here....you can do it!!!

Sounds like you have the right instruction to guide you through! Great! (That saves SOOO much frustration.) Like I said before - competition is just another fork in the road to whatever is the end. Esp your first competition is just really the first revealing of what you brought to the table. I know people who go thru several years of competition working their way up the ranks and also learning from each competition, but also going thru several cycles of competition prep to train their bodies to make the required changes that they weren't born with or are easily produced. If it helps at all, one of my old trainers told me a story about this lady he knows who is a pro wheelchair competitor. She was parallyzed from the waist down in a car accident in her late teens. After several years of training, competition & even a pro card. she was able to come to his gym and get up out of her chair and walk a few steps assisted as a result of all her strength, determination & general passion for fitness. Pretty mind blowing when you think about what you can accomplish. So make sure you dont' limit the scope of your goals to just this one show. Even shows are just another step in the journey towards whatever it is you are looking to achieve :)

Classic case of denial...it's okay, Bunny. You're still cool in my book. ;)

Sassy...burned chicken breast? YUCK! :worried: That doesn't sound good at all!

Treilin...okay, I'll start a journal. Where did you buy your suits? I am thinking black and blue...like a light blue. The girls at the Arnold inspired me. :)

I went to the Arnold also!
I bought them through this lady that is based in Florida she makes a lot of the pro's suits, and my trainer has used her on every other girl that he has trained for competitions. $750 for two suits and that was with the discount....
