LOL @ couples

More on topic, there's something to be said for going to see something your SO wants to see even if you don't, as long as he's doing you the same courtesy sometimes...like cindy, I usually end up liking it anyway.

Yeah! :) I do it with my Dad all the time. I'll go see some war movie and he'll see what I want next time. I wouldn't usually watch a war or science fiction movie but I almost always end up enjoying them.

Really?

You don't have to be a kid to enjoy a movie that involves kids, or fantasy, or magic...Film is a form of escapism, it's the last place you should be taking yourself too seriously. The harry potter movies are going to be looked back on as family classics.

btw, mitch, I've gone to a movie by myself...it's not a big deal.
I tried watching the first one, and I didn't like it at all. I'm not into wizardry or spells.

Im in line @ movies and this couple in front of me is waiting for Potter tickets, dude notices cowboys & aliens is out and is super excited, bish/gf squashes him by saying the movie looks stupid and they're not watching it, he then says Potter sucks and he's watching, to which teh bish only shrugs and brushes him off... the real irony for me is that I was in line for 1 Potter and 1 cowboys & aliens, hubby hates potter, i dont like his movie (typical dude flick) so we each watch what we want instead of being douches and forcing eachother.... wtf is up with these weird couples.... or are we the weird ones :worried:

how is your husband supposed to get theatre-head if your in another theatre

we usually watch them together and we usually see one he likes and then one i like but then we considered it was a waste of time gas and money.... no real reason to suffer through the others movie just to be empathetic, we both loved our movies last night :)

so he did get theater-head? Public sex ftw.

Yes, couples are weird. It's funny to observe the dynamic of a mini power struggle. It depends on what stage in the relationship you're in, i suppose. I would never consider going to watch different movies with someone but if I was living with someone for years it could make sense.
I'd feel weird watching a movie alone in a theatre. Proly just my self-centred, self-consciousness that comes out.

also, i was kinda pissed at the last Harry Potter and having spent 30 bucks for a "to be continued" movie

we normally only go to the movies if its a movie we both like and really want to see in the theater. otherwise, we wait for it to come out on demand or netflix. just not worth the money if one of us isnt going to be entertained.

i have been to movies by myself but its been many years.
