Your thoughts on a midnight protien shake.

I know this should be in the diet board, but more people will respond here.

Anyways. Do any of you wake up during the middle of the night to consumer a protien shake?? If you do, how much do you consume?? Do you feel it makes a significant difference?? I was considering doing it to help boost gains while bulking. I also feel that going 8 hours without feeding the body nutrients is quite lengthy. Maybe the disruption of waking up will be too much (doubt it, but you never know), but I guess we'll find out. So what are your guys thoughts on this?

but seriously tho - in theory its great, but i cant haul my ass out of bed to start mixing a shake in the middle of the night!!

but more power to you if you can do it bro
 
well my body is weird, usually i goto bed at like 2 am, 3 am, wake up at 6am (for some reason) then I get some protein there... then I wake up at 10-11 am and eat breakfast.
I never fail not to wake up in those time ranges.

--- haha why don't you try getting an intraveinus machine :) .. just hook that baby up while you're sleeping
 
When I wake up in the middle of the night to take a piss, which usually happens every night, I have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom so sometimes I will stop and mix one up real quick. :p
 
I wouldn't set my alarm clock for it but I would have one in the fridge in case I wake up to piss. Or get some rtd's. - cbeaks
 
some nights though I dont make it to the bathroom and end up pissing all over the floor, when that happens I dont make it through the kitchen and no protein shake. :D

lick it up off the floor to make sure that you aren't losing any of that protein in your piss. - cbeaks
 
I believe in theory that if you are in the process of bulking it can do nothing but add to your gains. I have always woken up to drink a shake at night.. I usually pre-mix before I head to bed that way I can just shake it up, jug, and hit the pillow again! Seen it work wonders for me, I am still natural however but I assume if you use AS it will significantly increase your gains due to the protein synthesis!

I've mastered eating in my sleep. i don't even wake up, I just go to the kitchen and pull out a premade sandwich and a shake with my eyes closed the whole way.
