It's a priority that my wife and I spend a little time each day talking about our day and spending it with each other. Working out (at the present time) is not a priority. We thought of working out together, but we have a hard time getting a babysitter for the kids when we go out and I don't like the 'babysitters' at the gym.

Men marry women hoping they will never change.
Guys need to know that their womens hair length and color IS going to change AND eventually her physique is going to change. If her body changes a bit because of the babies she had with you then its ALL WORTH IT.
Razorguns said:Psychology people, psychology. First off - it's a woman's DESIRE, via nature, to keep a man, who won't leave them. This is instinctual, and creates that "jealous" gene.
With that said - if said woman balloons to 240lbs THE LAST THING SHE WANTS TO SEE when she comes home - is her hubby still at his 18 y/o weight of 150lbs. Quickest way for man to get sick of his fat wife, and start "looking around". And leaving fat wife and 3 kids to fend for herself. Woman, by nature, DO NOT want this (duh!). "If I get fat, either you also get fat, or I lose the fat" : is what the woman wants in her head. Usually "losing fat" is incredibly tough.
So, fortunately Mother Nature helps out these women. Making the hubbies also gain weight in time. So by the time they hit 30,40,50 - they are pretty similar in size & attractiveness level (go to a mall, overweight wife = overweight hubby 95% of the time).
You will NEVER see a GQ looking Brad Pitt guy with 3 kids and a 300lb wife. If you do - she's called a Sister.

And there is NO diplomatic way you can tell her you find her less attractive (well, you do, you used the term "BLUBBER") What you CAN do is ask her if she would like to go for walks, bike rides, go swimming, (i.e., exercise dates). Also, avoid eating around her, avoid tempting her, i.e., don't keep tempting food around the house, avoid taking her to the bar, etc.
A person's weight is one of those personal things. I do not believe it is possible to change to suit another person. It's something you have to want from within, otherwise you lose the motivation to keep it up.
I'll tell you right now, if you find a few pounds on her (how much could she possibly have gained in a month or two, seriously) offensive now, you'd best find another woman and call it a day. She will gain weight some day, she's clearly got a bit of a tendency for it and it apparently is something she has to keep an eye on. Some of us got dealt a shit hand when it comes to metabolism and tendency to gain weight. The only way I can ever achieve/maintain my "ideal" weight is, literally, every day I have to measure my food and log my calories. Every ... Fucking ... Day ... of ... My ... Life. That shit gets old after a few decades, seriously.
