We love mixing heavy compound movements in our workouts; keep in mind though, we work more for aesthetics than for strength (although we are pretty strong). Love squatting and deadlifting (SLDL/RDL/Diamond bar -- not conv. or sumo) on the same day! Promotes character ... Of course, we don't do this everytime, we rotate exercises too, but on legs, we'll generally have two heavy compound movements followed by isolation work. And, if there's a day we're not feeling it, we back off -- natural periodization I guess ...
