What To Do Next.... Pics (cutting/Bulk?)

Thanks Sarge. I have been reading up on the 3 X 5 and 5 X 5 for the past week as i feel i need to change my workout. Most of the programs tell you to eat more but i read the Bill Starr 5x5 and in the diet section it does not say anything about having to eat more or less it just says you eat depending on what you want, in my case my prime goals is to lower my BF% and gaining strengh but from what i have read to both is pretty hard.

Im aware of that m8, but im not to much bothered on gaining mass at the minute. My main goals are to gain strengh and cut bodyfat (as mentioned above) doing a 5 X 5. I was asking if this is possible if i eat around 2400cals a day?

You may gain some strength, but it would be minimal.. 2400 is still a cutter for sure. Try upping it 2800/2900 that would be a slight increase and would help you gain some muscle. If you are trying to gain strength and keep bf low you could do a short bulk followed by a short cut again..that way the bodyfay wont rise as much as if you did a hardcore bulk.

Doing a long drawn out cut will eventually slow down..switching to a bulk will help in the long run..IMO.
 
Another day another visit to the gym.

Again mixed it up abot today as im trying to get this 5 X 5 in check.

So basically i done

Squats
Incline Military
Deadlifts
Situps
Bench

I know this is more than normal (should not have done bench) but as said its really justa practice run. I was very tempted not to do it as i could still hardly walk from the weds workout but im warmed up more than usial. Once i had got through the warup squats i was fine and felt good. Im hurtin even more now but its nice to know that this shit is workin me more than my previous workouts that i have been doing over the past few months. Weighed in and put just over a 1lb on dont know what thats about but still happy as the workout went so well.

Think i will just stick with my same diet for now and do the 5 X 5 for a month and see what results i get from it.

Hey cross... if you want some real good feedback you may want to start your own thread over in the weightlifting forum. Those guys are very helpful. Generally speaking, you will see the scale go UP since you are adding lean body mass.

I do not think it is impossible to lose body fat while adding muscle & increasing strength, but it is VERY difficult for some people after the 'newbie gains' phenom passes.

A change in routine will do you good and I've seen many guys praise the 5 x 5 for strength, but the only one I've seen so far make such drastic changes with appearance (muscle & strength increases with minimal bodyfat gain IF ANY, at the same time) is mm. And he is a huge supporter of a clean diet. You may want to ask him about cal intake for his 5 x 5 and he can guide you.

I will start another on Sunday/Monday over there i was waiting till i started properly on the 5 X 5 and made made my mind up what i was doing.

I will Pm him now actually he was helpfull when i first started out :) as most people on here.

Still not started it proper yet :worried:

I need to get my squats and bench sorted. My PT was busy till friday so i booked in again to get it sorted this friday. I have been doing the 5 X 5 but when i have done it i have done the squats and bench press with dumbbells. Im doing shitty weight aswell im weak as hell :(. Dumbbells i have been using for squats were 30kg each so about 133lb total i think i would be able to lift a fair bit more once i learn to squat properly with the bar. The problem i have got when it comes to bench i have no-one to spot me as my missus would not be able to do it. So hopefully i will have everything is check by next monday.
