Westside For Bodybuilding Purposes

You can gain a alot of muscle mass using this type of training. espc if you eat a lot.

Also (this may sound stupid) but the stronger you get.....more potential you have too get bigger.

but since its not specifically geared towards body building, you will have more sucess with a body building program.......but with BB you wont gain as much strength....why not kill two birds with one stone?

Thats what I am wondering. See if ones goals are lets say 40% size, 40% strength, and 20% fat-loss. Westside would be an excellent choice wouldnt it?

I am just afraid that I will end up with big triceps, big legs and hips, and small biceps, etc.

remember if you lift big you will get big, in all areas, that's why a lot of people who never do neck work have big necks

training westside style will defiantly put size on you! if your worried about your biceps then just throw in some bicep work, one of the best things about westside is nothing is really set in stone, there is alot of tailoring to individual needs and weaknesses.

If your wanting a program phased around gaining, size/strength, but want to keep bodyfat low then Westside (IMO) is not the best bet. You would probably have better success with a bodybuilding routine and some cardio/diet adjustments. Also something you may not have thought of would be an athletes(football, track, etc) workout. Some of the best success I ever had at obtaining strenght, muscle size, and maintaining a low bodyfat(8-12%) was using a weight program from a Division I football team.

Monstar....one of the routines I like for BB is 5x5. It's VERY similar to Westside, in terms of theory and variety. It turns out some incredible physiques that are also strong, like the old school bbers that didn't choose between form and function. You may want to ask about it on training, or shoot a PM to Needsize for more info.

This is also some good advice.

I agree the 5x5 woudl work better. You will put size on with Westside but you will do it quicker and put it on in differetn places without it. You want size do the three core movements. Squat, bench , deadlift.

NO need to box squat for bodybuilding. And you wanna deadlift more often with bodybuilding. And no need for speed work when bodybuilding. ETC. Just my opinion.
