lewis didnt want to fight tyson off medication not because he was afraid of losing, maybe he was just afraid of getting his fucking limbs bitten off by a phsycotic human being. theres a reason why tyson was turned down by a few places before memphis and maybe thats the same reason lewis didnt want to fight him off medication. lewis's reach is so much further than tysons that all he has to do is jab and tyson cannot get inside.. he had no chance from the start. but you think tyson is fazed? he just made 20 million $$ he dosnt give a fuck about losing.

There are many blind Tyson fans on this board.
Yesterday he got humiliated to the extreme. I give a fuck whether he was on downers. It is sad enough that he needs them to go into the ring.
But, face it, his time is over. He was the best before he got to jail. After that he never was the old again. And now, I recommend him to finish his career, if not he will loose the rest of his reputation.

When are you guys going to face the music brothers, Mike is washed up & has been for at least the past 8 yrs. He is nothing more than a side show, he might as well be a juggling, sword swallowing mule. It wasn't the drugs, Tyson has never really had any boxing skills & Lewis wasn't going to let him inside to do his lucky one punch that so many times won fights for him. He tasted Lewis power & didn't want anything to do with it. Hell he was ready to quit in the 6th! For those who refuse to give Lewis is props, you can say what you want but, the man has proven himself again & again. Think about it, he has beaten every single man he's ever fought! He's fought everyone that has wanted to fight, there's nobody in the heavyweight division at this point worth fighting for him. He's 36yrs old & still developing new skills. Did you see that fucking uppercut he was throwing, although it never landed too good, it was very thunderous. People have never given Lewis the respect he deserves & probably never will but, undisputably, he's the best thing out there & can you think of any other that has beat every single man he's fought? For god sakes, he was an olympic champion & has steadily gotten better since then.

Some of you guys are funny, some are pretty damn harsh. If your a monster boxing fan like myself you would appreciate both sides.

Lewis is just an absolute genius boxer, he is a true champion and a spcialist in his sport, he knows how to defeat everyone, tall short, puncher or boxer, he adapts to any style and exploits weaknesses, and he uses his height extremely well.

Tyson, just fought Lewis too soon, and he did it for the cash, I mean lets face it, I'd let Lewis or tyson punch me in the groin repeatedly for 17 million bucks. I think Tyson truly did need 2 or even 3 more fights to get back and get ready, do i think he would have beat Lewis no friggin way, in fact I don't think the Tyson of old could beat Lewis (bold statement). Also its well known how unstable Mike is, if he doesnt beat you by round 3 he loses it, and if you give him a cut and make him bleed..he's yours. As far as being sensitive at the end, well thats where Mike won me over, he showed some class (maybe zoloft) besides he's been friends with Lewis for 15 years.

Oh yeah, I did hear that the deal for this fight was a 2 fight deal. Guaranteed rematch. Didn't hear it myself, so I can't confirm it. Could be just a rumour....

Not really. When Lennox was a Canadian amateur and 17 years old, his trainers took him to upstate NY to spar with 16 yo Mike Tyson. They lived in the same room for a week. I guess Mike smacked him down then. Fast forward almost 20 years. Both Tyson and Lewis talked MAJOR shit on each other. They are definitely NOT friends.

Word! Tyson did do the dirty work years ago. Yes, there was a clause in the contracts of both fighters for a rematch. However, as a champ, if Lewis lost, he automatically got a shot. Since Tyson lost, he MIGHT get a rematch. However, I'm guessing that Tysons clause wasnt automatic. It's dependent on whether or not Lewis retires, and whether or not he wants to fight Tyson. I dont see why he wouldnt want to. Getting paid rules.

Next, Lewis MUST defend the IBF portion of his titles against that Byrd guy (i think thats right?). If he fails to, he forfeits that and is no longer undisputed champ. After that, he'd fight Mike (assuming both he and Tyson were still boxing) In the meantime, it is expected that Mike will fight one of the Russian brothers or possibly Evander Holyfield another time.

Dont believe the fuckin hype b/c of course the press was gonna bash him if he lost. Tyson hasnt exactly been the best friend of the media in the past. Just imagine how much ass-kissing the media would have been doing if Mike won last week. Instead, virtually every two-bit punk collumnist and every major magazine decided to rip on the former champ.

The bottom line is this. If anyone says Tyson is washed up, they should spend 2-4 months training, then try to step in the ring with him. After 30-120 seconds, when they were knocked out, they'd be singing a different tune.

He's STILL one of the hardest (if not the hardest) punchers in boxing. If you get a chance to watch a tape of the fight, watch the entire first round. Lewis was SO scared. If Mike had fought like that the entire fight, he would have won with EASE.

Best believe if there is a rematch, Tyson will come in at even better shape and probably cause some major pain to Lewis.

Everyone is saying how Tyson is one of the 5 greatest fighters of all time, but are you talking about the 24 year old Mike or the Mike now. The guy's a friggin circus show who hasn't beaten a formidable opponent in years. Granted, he's still a badass, but you don't win fights against guys of Lewis' caliber by going ape shit for 3 rounds and hoping you knock him out. The guy should retire while he's still ahead and has one brain cell left.
