Yeah, not impressed. I believe I mentioned the curse of hype in your earlier thread. This looks overworked in the same sense as Cameron's The Abyss and Titanic.
I will admit that Cameron's epiphany of his liquid metal Terminator probably originated with ideas from The Abyss, and that Michael Biehn probably gave the performance of his life (I didn't even recognize it was him, much like not realizing Josh Brolin was Llewelyn Moss in Coen bros, No Country....).
I don't play into the hype all that much. There have been trailers that move me (like 300 made me want to go fight Persians the first time I saw it) but this one did nothing. When I saw the Avatar and the alien kissing in the end I was like its damn claymation, blah.
I won't cast judgment on the movie yet because I have seen shitty previews and the movies turned out good. I am not going to rush to the movie theater to see this one though.
