Trailer for James Cameron's Avatar

Yeah, not impressed. I believe I mentioned the curse of hype in your earlier thread. This looks overworked in the same sense as Cameron's The Abyss and Titanic.

The Abyss > God.

Except for the end.

I will admit that Cameron's epiphany of his liquid metal Terminator probably originated with ideas from The Abyss, and that Michael Biehn probably gave the performance of his life (I didn't even recognize it was him, much like not realizing Josh Brolin was Llewelyn Moss in Coen bros, No Country....).

way too much CGI. I'm going to hate that almost as much as I did Transformers.

The Abyss was good.

I don't play into the hype all that much. There have been trailers that move me (like 300 made me want to go fight Persians the first time I saw it) but this one did nothing. When I saw the Avatar and the alien kissing in the end I was like its damn claymation, blah.

I won't cast judgment on the movie yet because I have seen shitty previews and the movies turned out good. I am not going to rush to the movie theater to see this one though.

Apparently the 3D, which is how youre supposed to watch it, is pretty revolutionary.

Cameron spent the past 5 years or so coming up with it.
