The Truth About Harvard

I just started the 1099 world, no clue what I'm doing or when to do what :worried: will probably need to get an accountant or something since I have no idea how to report and I think it needs to be quarterly or something.

Go to the IRS website, you'll get the guidelines.

Since my accountant was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago I've been doing my own taxes but I have a tax background from law school.

Turbotax is your friend. :)

I'm gonna look into the IRS site, I heard I should set aside about 30% for tax, social security and medicare, which blows since I already make so little

It depends, you're gonna pay estimated taxes quarterly. I started by overpaying but if you have consistent income then you'll figure out what to pay. You'll probably become more Libertarian as you realize how much is taken from you by the government. :)

You are correct in the fact that I have never had a child to support. Likewise, you have no idea how many W-2's I applied for only to be rejected by my crimson letter. I interviewed with a Microsoft partner and after the interview process, "We really like your qualifications but company policy is strict, we can't have a convicted felon on the Microsoft backbone."

Self inflicted suffering is the cruelest master.

I still e-luv you.
I wonder how Lumberg got a job after his conviction. Interesting

Is that why you're not a lawyer?

I had a high ASVAB score, why would I reduce myself to being a marine? Why do you assume I was a knuckle dragger when I've never made that claim?

They (marines) had terrible college benefits compared to the Army.

Lol, Asvab score doesn't determine branch Idiot.
Asvab score determines jobs qualified for in said branch.
Further proof you are a fraud.

Indeed, but I never claimed what you post I claimed, each branch offers enlistment bonuses and their college benefits differed. The Marines had terrible benefits and I assume it was because they were relying on reputation to attract high school burnouts.

Low ASVAB means you only have combat arms as an option.

Lumberg is on the Microsoft backbone? Every company has HR policy, they did offer me a position in sales that was on the other side of the backbone.

Nope, I graduated in the class of 98, and the ex-wife scheduled an intervention with my professors and friends because she assumed it (tax attorney) was the path to wealth. When we attended my high school re-union she changed her tune, she was more than happy to brag about me making much more than the average attorney in a field which I had no degree. I was a couple years behind the organizer's husband in law school because of my military service but Shelagh seemed to enjoy when she(the organizer) said, "I should have married you." On the video of the event.

Shelagh was always focused on status and making 34k as an attorney was more prestigious than being a computer guy making 65k.
