The Innocence of Childhood Destroyed!

casavant said:
Well, I can see why you would be upset by that, but children end up being exposed to that sort of thing eventually, anyway. I mean, how did you all get from the "innocence of childhood" to where you're at now? She'll be alright, man.

But I think it is because kids are being exposed to these types of things sooner which can lead to and is in allot of cases to more troubled teens....IMO. The maturity level is not there at the younger ages to completely decipher the difference of what is right and wrong like you are able to at an older age. This just leads to more confusion......

Agreed as I posted in an earlier post up the page. I know eventually that will happen...I just didn't want it to happen prematurely but I guess that has been shot to Hell and back. Sure she might not mention it again or for awhile but it is stuck in her mind and she will hear something at school or with her friends or she will be with some friends at their house and be attended on the internet and she will tell them about it and they will click on it. I know it's human nature to be curious. She is in the fourth grade and I can't recall being exposed to this kind of stuff until much later.

I wonder what other things are on the Net under seemingly innocent addresses?

I agree totally beastboy.

People without kids just do not understand. You have to be protective of your kids or they will jump at the first thing that is shiny and glitters. Kids are not capable of knowing what is right or wrong!

Damn. As my daughter is 5 that's all I can say.

That's fucking bullshit that ulr is a fucking porn site. It's actually really fucked up.

Sorry you daughter saw the definition of a facial at 9. Terrible.

Well, at least you weren't sitting there clicking through the shit with her. That would be fucked up.

I do agree that there are healthier and more timely ways to educate your child about sex. As far as them seeing it while unattended- well, I think that that's all part of growing up. Some of it might bother them, but as long as it's not being forced on them, they'll be OK.

Thanks Crazier! It's scary nowadays raising kids. Please be careful with her. No matter how much emphasis we put on raising our kids responsibly, something will always happen that will destroy the hard work we have put into our kids.

Someone once told me.....when you have boys....you only have to worry about one dick but when you have girls....you have to worry about all the dicks! Makes alot of sense!

It does. :bawling: :bawling:

She's so damn sweet right now... thinks nothing is better than going to the park to fly a kite and feed ducks with her dad. Sadly, those days will one day come to an end. She keeps telling me 'I'm gonna be 5 forever daddy.' I could only wish, when I know the days of her teen years are just a mere 2,920 days away. :bawling: :bawling:

Regardless... May she always stay sweet and daddy's little girl.

:)
