Some skinny kid at my gym told me: "Bro, you over-train"

its what works for you bro,if you grow then by all means do it,im growing just fine on a high intensity one time a week per muscle workout,i do find it hard to get a mind/muscle connection training that much but with 18 inch arms ur doing something right

got a pic

alright listen you moron

you seem to have a problem with interpretation. When I type somthing I mean exactly what it says. When did I talk about genetics ?. bbing is about learning how your body responds to your training and learning to prioritize your weakspots without hindering growth in the rest of your body. Thats what the pros have figured out how to do. thats why they look the way they do(that and lots of juice). some people just dont have the cognitive ability to do this. you might be one of these people. have you considered somthing less difficult - like basket making ?

whatever works for you bro.......when you get in a rutt, then maybe take a break. But until then and if you are still getting great gains, then tell the skinny kid to go wack off.

Dorian Yates trained in this fashion:

Day 1: Delts/Triceps
Day 2: Back/Rear Delts
Day 3: Off
Day 4: Chest/Biceps
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Off

After warmups, etc he never lifted for more than an hour. I don't even want to think about the amount of gear he had in him when he was competing.

JonnyFive...

these are all opinions and I respect yours. I wish you would have had the balls to leave you post to me up (the one about the genetics) When you make an aggressive post you have to expect one in return. anyway I think we have strayed from the topic enough to put an end to this.
I really do respect your opinion - no hard feelings

have some karma to prove it ! :)

I would have just replied:

"Thanks for the tip, Spanky."

(and then smirked at him as I did my 100th set for arms that day)

on your side studly if it is just a blast workout it will work for a while keep going until the gains slow and then change it up

call me incredibly stupid, but I don't really see how it is possible to train EVERY bodypart 3x a week unless you are pulling 2 a days and not taking more than 1 day off. Are you training quads 3x a week, hams 3x a week and calves 3x a week too? Most guys I see who train arms and chest 3x a week do so at the expense of other bodyparts (primarily legs)...maybe I'm unfairly jumping to a conclusion, but a 170lb guy with 18" arms most probably has the legs of a stork.
