Shoulder Injury

Mehta

New member
About 1 year ago I hurt my shoulder very badly. It was not a specific injury but more so a soreness that worsened over time. After going to a doctor I was told that it was probably a slightly torn rotator cuff and I had to rest it for six months. I have recently started working out again and it has begun to bother me again. I am not able to lift the amounts of weight that I used to and it is very tender. I am suppose to see a specialist tommorow but if he has nothing to say I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me. This injury either came about from over extending myself or not juicing correctly. I have heard tales of GH or Deca repairing ligaments. At this point I am willing to try anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

There is no gear that will help you with this condition. Deca will only mask the problem by increasing the water retention. GH has some advantages which would not apply here. Your best bet is just to have it fixed. Get as many opinions as you can afford, find a good sports doc that specializes in rotator cuff injuries. This is not a major repair but if you try to 'work around it' you will only suffer in the end.

shoulder injury

Hey bro i know what your talking about, my shoulders are messed up also , been to a doc about it did all the test for rotator cup, came back neg, they did find some arthritus in the joints cause from all the lifting and a bone in the shoulder wearing funny. He gave me options of an operation to fix the bone and clean out the joints, or try inflammatory drugs which i did cause it was the cheapest way . Well its been a week and the shoulder feels good until i lift then the pain is back. But its only been a week and he said it ussally takes a month to work so i hope so. So just cause theres pain could be somthing else then a tear in the cup, and let me tell you the arthogram test they do to see if theres a tear is no picnic, hope this is some good info, good luck

i'll be right back with a couple threads for you to read. i cringe when I read about guys suffering what I've learned is a fairly easily remedied problem.

be right back... :)

I too have bad shoulders. I can bounce my self and my shoulders would pop out because of loose tendons and ligaments.. And i had a football injury that messed it up bad.. I have no advice really but i would like to tell u goodluck cause i know what u are goin through

OK StoneCold I read up on that stuff and still dont have much of a clue about ART. What exactly does this guy do? Can you give me a description, since you have had the treatment? I mean does he just push around like a chiropractor? Whats the deal? It seems a bit "mysterious"!

and would "ART" be able to help me also - i have tendinitis(at least thats what i have been told be ONE doctor) in my shoulder and it burns like hell anytime i lift.

StoneColdGold...

I'm calling the number tomorrow for a ART practitioner in my area. This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. The last six months have been killing me and I've been holding off on some "stuff" I've wanted to do in the hopes that my shoulder would heal...no luck. I can't get to Denver so I hope there's a good one in tne NY area. Thanks bro!

OVRTrainer... no prob, bro. As is said in one of the other threads, be patient. You will have significant improvement immediately, but it usually takes some working through a little pain and maybe a second or third treatment to be totally pain free.

King... basically it is manual manipulation of the soft tissue while moving the muscle through a range of motion. For example, with my shoulder, Dr. Leahy has me lie on my back with my arm straight up in the air. He digs his right thumb into various parts of my armpit, lat, and chest, while pushing my arm back over my head. It can be excruciating, but its a GOOD hurt.

And yes, this treatment is great for tendonitits. I just saw Dr. Leahy two days ago for severe problems with my tricep tendons (one is healing from being torn, the other is just inflammed), and it helped a lot. He also worked on my left knee, which had been causing me tremendous pain in the patellar tendon area. Yesterday I was able to do one-legged squats, which would have been impossible before.

Questions on A.R.T.

First I wanted to thank Stonecoldgold for giving me some advice. But I had some questions about it. After going to the doctor today I was told that I need an MRI on Monday and atleast 3 months of physical therapy . He also said I could not do incline, flat bench, or military press. In otherwards no upward pushing motion for my shoulder for atleast two months. Your telling me that an othorpedic specialist tells me that but some guy who does A.R.T could have me fixed up in 2 weeks. I would like to know if your sure about this or if it's a long shot that will just cost me more $$$. I also wanted to know if this makes the problem feel like it went away or actually go away. Thank you
