Shooting for HRT ... what do these numbers mean.

I'm 47 years old, and just asked my Dr. to get on an HRT program. He had my blood work for free test and prostate serum done ... here are the results;

Prostate-Specific Ag, Serum = 0.7 ng/ml
Testosterone, Free, Direct = 6.3 pg/ml

I was told my test is low at 6.3 (6.8 - 21.5 is considered within range), but is it low enough??

My Doc has referred me to an Endo, but I don't know if my numbers are low enough for him to set me up with HRT. At 47, I'm sure my numbers will only decrease with time.

I have the classic symptoms to warrant HRT ... low energy and motivation, moody, could take sex or leave it, extra mid-torso fat developing ... I eat very well (high protein/low fat diet), and exercise 6 days a week (serious cycling and weight training for legs), and get 8 hours sleep a night.

Thoughts please ...

Thank you.

Avoid the endo doctor and just go with an anti-aging/HRT clinic. If you don't know where to find a good one, PM me and I can refer you to mine.

Thank you for the offer ... but, I am looking more for an understanding of what the numbers mean.

My insurance WILL NOT cover a clinic, but WILL cover the doctor I was referred to by my family doctor, as well as the costs of the prescriptions he prescribes ... so an Endo it is.

Good approach! Learn all you can before you start playing around with aas and even HGH.
