Treilin, i have somewhat of a hunch in my upper back from sittin at a comp all day, would "planks" help strenghten these muscles and straiten them up...

i mean its not noticable to alot of people, but i notice it and would like to stop it before its too late

I was in a horrific car accident this morning. No one else involved, just me and a slippery road hill and a very very steep hill of dirt on my right that pwnd my car. My car is totaled, it looks like it was rolled over multiple times. I was seatbelted. All i got was some abrasions, one bruise, and a swollen side of the head where the curtain airbag hit me so i didn't smash my head directly on the window. cat scan said my dome was anatomicaly correct... but they said they can't fix my brain function, lol.

I have 10 vic's to use...they gave me one in the ER and thankfully that kicked in and started working sooner than later; my head was throbbing like no other.

Gave me a tetnus shot in the delt while i was there too.

Going to try to eat protein and get in good solid food in when i can... appetite is nonexistant right now. Back in the gym end of next week hopefully.


Thank God is all I guess I can really say... I guess it wasn't my time yet, must have some more business to do here... :rose:

Wow. Glad to see you are ok. Remember, dying is very counterproductive to your training goals. It costs you huge amounts of lbm.

Slept 7 hours... went to bed at 4am... that 5 hour nap yesterday, couldn't go back to sleep right away.

My right delt is sore and tender to the touch... damn nurse and her pressuring me into a Tetnus shot update, lol.

Na, no dbol... i tried to get a case of test cyp vials though :evil: :D

Time to pop another half of vicoden, that's how i'm dosing them... it takes the edge of pain off without putting me in a fog of uber medicinally sedated.

Train hard for me guys... my first day of week 8 would be today.

I'm glad WSM (World's Strongest Man, espn) is on til' around 7pm tonight :) Loungin around and eating, lol... can't beat that right now.

Perspective, yeah... I still can't believe it when I look out the window and see my car there... looking like Godzilla used it as a soda can to smash on his head. And it snowed yesterday so it's marinating the interior all over the leather and dash...everything...

Happy New Years Eve to all... enjoy it in some way or another!!

Kab: Car wrecks are not often profitable... i'm just hoping to be able to get what's it's worth retail from the insurance if they Total it (which they should IMO)... and hopefully get enough to buy replacment aftermarket audio equipment that was ruined, and the medical bills, ect (actually i need to write up an itemized list today for everything)... I did all I could so far this long weekend... I have to wait til' Tuesday to move forward and hear back from the claims adjuster though.

Setiously. protects your organs. my mom keeps telling me that if I'm ever in a aaccident I'm in trouble with sub 6 %. you and a few others made me realize this is it. shit or get off the pot. 31 days to get fat or I'm done.

as far as training...fuck it. you'll come back stronger. eat every vhance u get. hungry or not....youre burning a zillion cals healing.....you gotta keep fuel. get your pb jar get some milk and get few lbs of steak......set your alarm for 2 to 3 mx...im with u bro. next week is day 1 this is recondition thetapy

fuck me....speaking of bruises...i got a huge bruise split right in the middle of my pecs. From parallell tbar corner rows.....barely even hittn it.......thats called a frail and depleted state........not much longer....i got 3 abs still peaking through...time to close the door on em.....tommorrws cheat will be gargerous.....tonight was fat top round steak and prob a 12oz yam smothered in hiney cinnamin n splenda.....3 glssses of so.me wicked wine....

230 in no time... I think i'll be a quality mid teen BF% 250lbs by March ... just in time for The Arnold :chomp:

I'll be taking clothes donations to upgrade sizes :lmao:

Coleman doesn't have much more potential to go though at his level... it's not like he's going to be 400lbs at 4% BF lol

yah yah... it's still ambitious I know :p

I'd be happy with a solid 240...that's very possible/more reasonable goal for a few months away. Though we'll see how it works without pulling heavy and squatting 3x week heavy... unless my back is 100% within that time.

Hell when i started seriously bulking in sept i was up 15-20 lbs in a couple months I think.

I just ate 2 large slices of amazing apple pie made from scratch... had some MPI protein in water with it too :Chef:

sbt, al, quad, jp: Thank you. Doing better, not 100% yet though... thankfully I was barely injuried at all... though my hearing and vision is a tad off which is kinda scary... and I need to set up a follow up appt with the Doc for that.

lol, no they didn't have to cut me out. It was like i was in a protected pocket... my door opend and passenger did too (coupe)... but front, front side quarters, rear, ect all blown out.

I'm already done with the vics only used about 3 of 'em. They work for the first day or two and then after that i'd have to double up even to take the edge off. But pain is fine now thankfully.

I can't wait to get back and bang some iron around the end of this week or weekend. I'm eating like i'm training currently, keeping fuel abundant.

Will you change the layout of your training now that you're squatting again? This seems like a natural time to do it, since you got the bench PR(s) you wanted from this training cycle and will be coming off a nice (unplanned) deload.

Not really, my abs aren't strong enough yet. My lower will still act up if I go heavy.

I was going to stick with the 2 squatting days going as heavy with 8-10 reps (maybe up to 15) as I can (95-135lbs)... Front squatting. Front seemed to feel better.

Other than that, i'm going to see if I can't sumo DL without putting myself in the ER, lol. I'll need to remind myself to ease into that too, even if it's with just the bar at first :rolleyes:

Wow... Sarge I'm happy that you are ok. I just read about your accident myself and thank god you are going to be ok from what you've been posting. Keep up the hard work and BE SMART about getting back into your lifts! Good luck bro!

A few comments:
1. lol @ the New Year's crowd. Have I mentioned that I love working out at home?
2. How the hell do you forget to squat?!?!?!
3. Can your back handle Pendlay rows again? If so, they would be a good lift to push, especially if you're not deadlifting heavy. You could hit two plates for 5 in this training block if your numbers at the end of your 5x5 were any indication.
4. (blatant hijack/off-topic) Is anybody else getting a D-Blade ad at the top of the page urging you to "try [D-Blade] now" in German?

Yay! more fun and random banter :)

1. ya, ya... I like the gym atmosphere. As much as I don't talk to anyone or socialize, I like having the ability to use the yoga ball for cable work when I need to ;)
2. It's not ingrained in me to go to the squat rack at every session anymore, I didn't write it down ahead of time as I do my workouts.
3. I'm going to give it a whirl for sure :) I remember I got 205x3 by "trying" them out again a few weeks ago. 225, more than reasonable goal if my core can hold out... i think it can.
4. I think I've seen that once. Mostly I get AF, AG, STERIODS AND BEYOND (that's always a good one to have a work at the top of the screen :rolleyes:), and other junk... as a Plat, I hate that... and even the backdoor/expertpcsupport doesn't block that anymore last time i checked. bullshit.

Just cooked up 8 breasts, 3 bags of brocolli, 1 bag (~5 cups) brown rice... go me. Good to go for a few days, depending on how augmented my diet is with other sources and eating out.

I did rows yesterday and was only able to hande 135x5 with good form, i remember reading ur high ass poundages in the rows too like CS mentioned, i really need to kill it there.

SQUATING Is not inbred anymore!?!? Oh boy! lol, u should have to fight to stay away from the almight rack lol

mm- i get the roid store shit too.....i pulled up ef yesterday and the guy next to me was like..."i know you were on roids" haha....took it as a compliment :)

sarge...just started doing knee raises with a a 20 lb db hanging from my feet....i felt these more in my lower abs then any other lower ab exercise. you can do them either haning or off that dr. :evil:looking contraption where you can do dips on but also work stomach on.

Planks, yes... will be back to doing all that i need to do. Didn't have time last night, was going to do a long good one, but only had time to shove some brocolli, chicken down, clean up, and sleep.

Back is "ok" ... as expected from not doing a damn thing for 7 days. Will see chiro a few times for sure. And I have a gift cert. for deep tissue, will save that for when it's really needed in a month+ or so after i've been back in the groove for a bit.

No. I only do TBar to replace Bent over freeweight barbell rows because my lower back problem. So when I do t-bar it's using the chest support leverage "thing." in the gym... not a barbell in the corner.

Fucking spammers...

If the Pendlay rows work well, you should probably move deads to another day (at least in subsequent workouts). I've always pulled conventional, so I don't know how much less sumo deads hit the lumbars, but it doesn't make much sense to have your two heaviest pulls on the same day once you start increasing the weight.

That's what I was thinking.

Now that you're used to the ab work, it might be time to get into a set plan in terms of reps and frequency (maybe 2-3 days/week) and start adding weight. Start with a 2.5 on your chest and keep increasing the weight in 2.5-pound increments as you get stronger.

SGT, have you ever thought of pulling dead sumo style??

i recently switched and let me tell you, if you stay up, tight and scapulas back, majority of the lift is done with the legs. It honestly feels like a reverse squat sometimes....

just a thought for your back...

when i pull conventional, my back is involved BIG time

Hey sarge...you work up a nice sweat at 3.7 for 10 minutes? When you do cardio do you increase the time....I want to stop the incline for more of a faster walk.....wondering how it compares.

10 minutes isn't really much. I just get bored... yeah i get a good sweat going most of the time though. but 3.7 varys gym to gym (machine to machine really) cuz i've tried 3.7 or around there at a few others and it was way to fast to be a fast walk, and sometimes it's too slow and has to be around 4.0... so you just gotta find a good range on the machine you use. I also get ridiculous front shin pumps it's anoying and that makes me stop too.

I used to get them after running. I started to stretch them and it went away for good - even while using Dbol they were fine.

hey, i do cardio.

10 minutes at a time, lol.

I only lift 4x a week, btw.

My training is fast paced though... i only rest for long periods when I can't breathe... I'm realizing that's hurting my strength so I try and take walks around the gym when I notice during workouts.

Probably #% or so (Numbers are relative, what's 13, or 17 or 5% on me, won't be the same on you or anyone else... so i'm not even going to go there), yeah it's not bad... but it's been better, and it's been much worst.

I'm ok with where I'm at regarding that right now. Building more musckles and getting stronger is what i need to do. No worries about "beach bod" in this weather.

In 2 weeks, i'll try it again pull 315+ hopefully now that my body knows I'm deadlifting again. stoopid thing doesn't want to cooperate, lol.

Decline Crunches: BW+5 for 3 sets of 8, using a 10lb plate next time, yay!

*my back was killing me, took long ass laying down breaks throughout DL's and kept the belt on for the rest of the workout to take some pressure off my erectors, I need to order a new belt ASAP... doesn't fit anymroe like it did at 170lbs. I felt like Chris Farley in fat guy in a little weight belt trying to crank it over just to get in the last prong holes, LOL*

Farmer Walks: 95's, 105's, 115's ... I always get the weirdest looks walking around, fuggin' mind ya business! ... though I think it's the cloud of chalk that was following me around the gym today that was annoying people :evil:

Ever try stretching your hip flexors (Psoas and Rectus Femoris) between sets on DL?!
That position puts your pelvis in an anterior tilt and o.k. I just erased this and put I know instead of possibly, hip flexors are tight. If you sit all day and then go do those you need to be incorporating some hip flexor stretching.

I'm actually taking my DL's out for awhile because of this very issue. The psoas connects from the lumbar spine to the lesser trochanter on the leg. So if it's shortened your going to get low back pain as well since it pulls on the spine.

Just make a habit of stretching your hip flexors before and after every WO (once your flexibility improves you can stop doing them before upper-body workouts). It'll be especially helpful on squats since you won't get "pulled forward" as a result of excessive tightness.

So i found something ... drove it to my "guy" (know a guy that owns a dealership) had his mechnics put it on a lift and go threw it... ridiculous, flood damage aparent, looks to have been rolled, carpet in the back has covered up wit baking soda nasty stains, some body panels have screws in them on the exterior, ect... Carfax didn't show it either it showd "commercial" ownership/title which seem to have been dealerships covering up stuff or something... / rant.

Well you can hit the psoas and rectus by just adjusting your foot position.
If you keep the knee bent on the front leg and the lower leg straight you hit rectus, if you position the foot slightly to the side you can hit psoas.
I'm talking the stretch you do on one knee where you lean your upper body back and push that hip side forward.

No problemo I got your back (No pun intended) LOL ;) :rose:
