Same movement as squats?

Definitely not the right forum to get a favorable answer to this one. There is NO machine out there can can duplicate the squat. Sorry to bust your bubble.....

Safer...more comfortable...maybe. More effective...depends on why you need to squat in the first place. Better place to ask would be the training board. More people over there use the squat as and end to a means....over here squatting is a way of life.

woah woah, i have no clue about any of this...

so there is no bubble to bust

the reason why i was looking for something was because i don't always have a training partner \ spotter

Sorry brotha that came off a little different from what I meant. Its just that we get alot of people in here that are looking for an excuse not to squat...and this is the wrong place to do that...sorry.

To answer your question...for the price of that machine you can get a powerrack for newyorkbarbell and then you will always have a spotter. It is the single best investment that you can make in a home gym.

$20 more than the machine you are lookin at...and it has a million more uses....

I was considering that as well (see my earlier post)

Just looking to see whats best, i'm not a lazy person and i'm not looking for a way around squats or anything

I would advise checking out the powerrack that Tate sells at www.elitefts.com Its a few hundred $ more but it is worth it. It has a great band set up with a block of wood, the pin settings are awesome and you can set up anything that you want very easily. I train on one of these and so does westside.

I think that it is worth a little more $ to buy from Tate. York is good sure but elitefts is the best no question about it.

Neither Hannibal nor myself use a power rack to squat in and we don't have spotters...we still get by.

Hannibal, I am over 6 foot tall. Can I do really wide stance squats
in that power rack? If it can handle wides, I will order it. Please
advise.

Thanks.

I am 6'2" tall and my stance is about 50" wide. You can put the J hooks on the front of it and box squat outside the rack.

I joke that before I started squatting I was 6'3"...damn spine compression. But yes...just put the J Hooks on the outside and squat there. Since your box squats are for speed no chance of you getting planted. And when you do your low box squats for Max Effort work...you should use a narrow stance anyway.

Order it...you wont be disappointed
