Rush Limbaugh busted for illegal drugs again. So much for morals...

Miami, FL -- June 26, 2006 -- Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, issued the following statement today in response to several inquiries by the media:

While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh's treating physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was permitted to continue on his journey.
Yes, but to the liberal media this non-event constitutes news.

Now mind you Bill Clinton could have had a kilo of coke and an eight year old Tai boy in his suitcase and by the time he was done spinning it the entire thing would be someone else's fault.

I hate Rush Limbaugh but I don't think we can say he did anything wrong in this case at this point. If it's a non narcotic pain killer, then there's no big deal anyway. As much as I hate Limbaugh, I think he's getting the shaft over this crap. The courts shit all over the 4th amendment by allowing them access to Limbaugh's medical records.

Why would a doctor mislabel a med with someone else's name? Even his own? That certainly flies in the face of conventional standards and malpractice insurance guidelines.

As stated patient privacy issues. Givent he high profile nature I see nothing untowards with not wishing to fill out precriptions in ones own names. The decision to dispense is the doctors and not the pharmacist. It's a non issue.

Its a very common practice among high profile people.

Unheard of.

Hell they could have arrested him for theft as he was possessing a substance not in his name.

"The problem was that on the bottle itself was not his name, but the name of two Florida doctors," Miller said.

Limbaugh reached a deal last month with prosecutors who had accused the conservative talk-show host of illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping painkiller prescriptions.

The matter Monday was referred to the sheriff's office, whose investigators interviewed Limbaugh.

"He said he had the Viagra in his possession for his use and that he did obtain it from his doctors," Miller said.

Investigators confiscated the drugs, and Limbaugh was released around 5:30 p.m. without being charged.

The sheriff's office plans to file a report with the state attorney's office.

"We believe there may be a second-degree misdemeanor violation, which is possession of certain drugs without a prescription, because the bottle does not have his name on it," Miller said.

He didn't want anyone to know he had dick problems. How embarassing.
