Rep's for HST training

there is no training routine that will add mass. increasing your body weight (adding muscle mass) comes from increasing your caloric intake.

check your diet !

"If i am not going to Failure, then i should be able to do 10 reps easy right?"

That depends.... that's not the way I look it. Weight progression is a big key here.

Some stop sets short when concentric speed slows.

So it depends. But you shouldn't be going to failure.

I just finished my first week of HST training. So far its good. My muscles feel alot fuller most of the time, kinda feels like a got a pump going on all day long. Today was my second week, and i still feel good. I just hope im not overdoing it with this routine.

marshall, you are either in a caloric deficit or a caloric surplus. in order to gain weight, you have to be in a surplus. This weight will probably be mostly fat and some muscle. There is no real way around this. I thought this was common knowledge around here. You DO need to raise your bodyfat to gain muscle, at least for a little while.

You don't need to have consumed a surplus of calories in any given day in order for a muslce to repair itself.

When was the last time a cut on your finger didn't heal because you weren't eating enough? You're body knows how to create new tissue even if you consume below maintenance calories.

And, you left out one option, you can stay constantly at the correct amount of calories, so that no excess calories are ever stored at fat. This is tough, but possible, as a friend of mine built a killer physique, drug-free, this way.
