Carpets are filthy and gross. Area rugs over hardwood are fine.

I can see it making sense in Florida, but I wouldn't like a tile or stone floor in a living room or bedroom at all. Part of my objection is acoustic, too many hard surfaces make a room sound echo-y and harsh.

It wasn't really a call-out thread, I just want the guy to chill out and be human. I do really think he's a good guy at heart, he's just a little... off. And coming from me, that's saying something.

In some areas of the country that is the norm, but in the southwest, including California, tiled living space (and flagstone, and colored concrete) is normal and I personally love it.

I had a house in Tucson, and the whole thing was Saltillo except for carpet in the bedrooms. Eventually I got rid of the carpet and made the house 100% Saltillo. Even the outside living areas were tiled.

I've got wood floors now, which are ok, but they take maintenance. You can't beat a building material like tile that is permanent and maintenance free. But in Colorado, I've got some doubts about using tile in my living room, just because some people would see it as strange, (for resale). In AZ, people wouldn't give it a second thought. In fact, it is expected.

To UA Iron - Does UA mean U of AZ in Tucson? If so, you should know that Saltillo is not dated, it is classic! And still used in new construction even in million dollar homes, even though it is an inexpensive flooring option.

This thread is about tile, right? :D
 
Yeah granite is $197 per top prefabbed. Or $2,150 for the whole house.

No fucker, the old S-10 had that hack job mess when I bought it and I had to fix it cause I was 15 and didn't know wtf I was doing

I just pulled it around and got out and snapped the pic.

I am putting some drag blocks on this weekend and will try and get creative with teh go pro for some vids
