Crew, i hope you are all well and everyone is smashing their journeys.
This message is on behalf of the entire mod team here at elite fitness.
First and foremost, we genuinely care about the health and safety of our members. Because of that, there are some recent events that we are aware of that we personally feel need addressing.
We heavily support people seeking out coaches to help guide them through their journeys, especially those with limited knowledge who are only just getting started and need that guidance. A good coach can be an incredibly valuable resource.
However, the point we genuinely want to make is that care needs to be taken when deciding who you place that trust in.
Do your due diligence.
Look through their current and previous clients. Look at the reviews and experiences of people who have worked with them. Look beyond transformations and physiques and try to understand the mentality behind how that coach operates.
Fast progress can come with increased risk, and taking unnecessary risks does not automatically produce faster progress. Sometimes all it produces is unnecessary damage to someone's health.
We are not here to name names. This team will always try to approach situations from a neutral and reasonable standpoint. However, when we see things that we believe could be detrimental to the health and safety of members within this community, we are not going to ignore them either.
There has been a very specific chain of recent events involving a particular coach and member that continues to surface. I will not name anyone here. Some of you will already know exactly what i am referring to, whether through following what has recently come to light or through firsthand experience with the individual involved.
For those who do not know, this message is probably even more important.
Please research the people you are considering putting your health into the hands of.
Just because a coach's physique stands out does not mean their morals, judgement or intentions automatically stand alongside that physique.
Look at their current clients. Look at previous clients who have left and, where possible, understand why they left. Look through client logs. Look at how things are being programmed. Look at the mentality behind their approach. Look at how frequently blood work is expected and, importantly, what that blood work actually looks like over time.
Please do not simply look at someone's physique and think, "that is the coach for me."
That is an emotional decision being made about something that should ultimately be logical.
Your health is at stake, not just your aesthetics.
Personally, and i feel the majority of the mod team here would support me in saying this, i have far more respect for a coach who promotes nailing the foundations first, takes a health conscious approach to ped use and understands that there is a significant difference between responsible use and unnecessary abuse.
The risk someone takes should also reflect their goals and circumstances.
A seasoned competitive bodybuilder knowingly pursuing an extreme level of development is in a very different position from someone relatively new to this world who simply wants to improve their physique. Those two people should not automatically be subjected to the same level of risk.
At the higher levels of bodybuilding, those decisions naturally become different. But generally, someone operating at that level already has enough experience to understand the risks involved and the type of person they need beside them.
So again, this post is simply about creating awareness.
It is not about fearmongering. It is not about deliberately damaging someone's reputation. Ultimately, a coach's reputation will be built or destroyed by how they carry themselves, not only as a coach, but as an individual.
Ask questions. Do your research. Look beyond the physique. Look beyond the promises of rapid progress.
Make logical decisions about who you trust with your health.
Much love to you all. Continue smashing your journeys, take care of yourselves, and make sure whoever you choose to have in your corner has every intention of taking care of you as well.
