hey guys, I was looking for some insight as to what might have happened to me at the gym today. two mondays ago i worked my delts doing 65lbs dumbell presses for 8x5. i decided i was going to take last week off to heal some joint issues i felt was hindering my progress. Today i tried 65lbs and could barely get them up and the weight was just all over the place, fucked up form for 7. i had to go down to 55lbs. how could i have loss this strength in two weeks, is that normal?

heres some things i think could have gone wrong:

1. Im on a calorie deficit for my cut, so last night instead of 5 small meals i ate one meal and a protein shake. the reason was i wanted to drink and knew i was going to pay if ate and drank all those calories.

2. besides the protien shake i didnt get any other protein, only carbs and fats.

3. no preworkout supplements.

Wondering what youre guys thoughts are about this. thanks for any feedback.

Me: 26years old, 195 lbs, 19% bf, 5'9, cutting until september bulk.

training: 1 -2 hours cardio 6x a week ( night and day) lifting 4 days a week.

Yup, you understood that right. I never said it was a good idea, but yes thats what i decided to do. Kind of like a cheat day.

I took two months off doing polyo-push up for baseball season, and went down about 20lbs on my bench press, and 25, 30lbs on my military press.

So yeah, I was pissed lol. I see where you're coming from for sure.

wow we need more info than one small meal and a protein shake i can eat 10 times a day and still be in a deficit

Im getting between 1600-1800 calories a day usually. Macros are 50/40/10 on days i lift (protien, carbs, fats). Or 50/25/25 on days off.

The one meal on sunday before my shoulder workout was a lettuce and avocado wrap. Id figure about 300 calories. Add to that a protien shake of 150 calories and there u have it.
