Random questions concerning diet

1) Is there a difference between cutting down in calories and eating the same as always but adding cardio if your goal is to lose bodyfat? Or will both end up with the same results?

2) Is protein powder mixed with milk good to drink before bed or is there too much carbs in the milk?

3) Everyone says that you need 1.5 grams of protein per lbs of bodyweight or more to build muscle nass. Then how come some powerlifters dont get anywhere near that number and are still huge? Are the proteins just a way to get the right amount of calories without packing on too much bodyfat?

4) Does cardio have any benefits when you are bulking up? Lets say i neeed 3000 calories a day to gain weight. Will eating 3300 calories and burning 300 from cardio help me gain lean muscle mass? Will i have the same result if i simply eat 3000 calories without any cardio or will i gain more fat that way?
 
1) both end up same results. if you add cardio, you should eat a little more to make up for the burned calories. however you do it, 500 less your MBR.
2) personally preference. its not going to hurt you. if your goals is weight loss, calories are more important than carbs. eating an entire pizza before bed is a different story...
3) its hard to do (and expensive), but this is a general rule and should be seriously considered especially while cutting.
4) cardio will help you burn the FAT if done correctly. some folks will say "NO CARDIO" while bulking. i say just limit it and do it right (at least have some BCAA's & glutamine before cardio on empty stomach) edit: added
 
Tatyana's sticky really helps... 1) I think cutting down on your cals... bmr-500 would be better in cutting then eating the same or whatever and cardio... 2) Have no idea... i really watch my diet and dont eat after 9 personaly... for bulking it would seem ok tho.... 3) Protein=amino acids=lbm... 1.5xlbm is the basic... I read others increasing a lil for bulking...
