Quick rotator question ...

Right now I work shoulders with back. I like it, but it seems to take too long a workout for my liking. I wanna move shoulders to chest day, but ...

Will this be hell on the rotators? Even if I warm up them up enough? My routine would consist of ...

Flat bench
Incline DBs
Incline Flys
Seated Military
Lat Raises
Basically a 5x5 scheme. 5x5 bench, 2x8-10 of the subsequent exercises. Also 5x5 military, 2x8-10 raises.

I just wanna make sure I'll be alright. All input welcome.

You'll definitely be taxing your rotators probably more than necessary. I'd sub one of your incline lifts with another flat or decline lift.

I disagree with this. . . in fact flat presses can be worse for your rotators than incline pressing.

Well...your rotators may get more work on THAT day...but they will get 6 full days of rest after that...

Thanks for your opinions fellas. I'll try it out. If they hurt, I'll stop. Live and learn, right?

I WILL be sure to warmup VERY well too.

Good plan.

None of it will matter if you're rotators are genetically weak and/or prone to injury. I've been very lucky with rotators over the years. Mine can handle higher weights and volume **knocks on wood, cowering**.

Just don't go balls out the first night. Ease into it and see how they feel after say three sessions.

Tried it tonight. Didn't like it. I did ...

Incline, 4x5 at 225
Flat DB, 2x8 at 100s
Flat flys, 2x9 at 55s

I hit my chest hard, as I always do, but I figured I'd give militaries a shot. Ha, I was wrong. My shoulders were so fatigued, it wasn't even worth it. Oh well. Thanks for your replies anyway guys. All help given is greatly appreciated.

I do chest and shoulders together. I figure that my shoulders are warm after my chest work, so I don't have to spend all that time warming them up if I were to do shoulders seperately. My shoulders also feel much better this way too. I used to have shoulder pain for my first few heavy sets, but like I said my shoulders are warmed up after chest so it feels much better.
