oh yeah it is - you are right

im just wondering if post workout its okay to use a slow digesting carb

i usually use skim milk but i cant stomach the protein shakes anymore they literally make me gag and want to vomit.

i already have old fashioned oats so i dont want to have to go to the store

so i like ur answer lol

post workout you want fast digesting high glycemic index simple carbs (dextrose, waxy maize starch), not complex carbs. this applies even when cutting except for the fianl few weeks, because during the post workout 60-90 minute "anabolic window", the carbs will be used to replenish muscle glycogen and not be stored a s fat unless you REALLY overdo it. for a 200lb man, 90 grams dextrose is good.

you also want to add a fast protein like whey to take advantage of this window.

pwo you'd be fine eating a couple of slices of plain white bread. I usually suck down a few honey packets with my shake.

Does it really matter? REALLY?

lol - you get a much better bang with whey because it's digested and assimilated during that "anabolic window" . If the taste and mixabiliy is a problem try Optimum Nutritions 100% Gold Standard Whey -- tastes great and mixes real easy with a spoon. egg whites arent bad, but slower and you have to eat like 10 to get the equivilent to a scoop of ON whey.
