post workout you want fast digesting high glycemic index simple carbs (dextrose, waxy maize starch), not complex carbs. this applies even when cutting except for the fianl few weeks, because during the post workout 60-90 minute "anabolic window", the carbs will be used to replenish muscle glycogen and not be stored a s fat unless you REALLY overdo it. for a 200lb man, 90 grams dextrose is good.
you also want to add a fast protein like whey to take advantage of this window.

lol - you get a much better bang with whey because it's digested and assimilated during that "anabolic window" . If the taste and mixabiliy is a problem try Optimum Nutritions 100% Gold Standard Whey -- tastes great and mixes real easy with a spoon. egg whites arent bad, but slower and you have to eat like 10 to get the equivilent to a scoop of ON whey.
